Running in Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master.
To begin with, got it same day as picked up in Best Buy. Installation was a breeze. Set it up as secondary drive to install games on it and have the full speed access to them. Absolutely happy with the performance of the drive. It has been three months since I bought it. My motherboard is a Gigabyte B550 Aorus Master, no compatibility issues at all. Highly recommended drive.

I use this for music.
I'm a dj. I use this drive for nothing more than music. I love ?? ?? it. It loads up super fast and there's is no stalling at all... I'm ready to buy 2 more!

Better Choice If You Wanna Spend A Little Less
It's an incredible SSD that has insane read/write speeds for it's price, and the only reason why I would recommend buying it over the new 9100 series is because of its more affordable price point and the fact that no 4 TB SSD'S on the market can even compare to the value you get with the 990 PRO. It has read and write speeds and a 4 TB storage that would normally cost a lot more when browsing anywhere else, making it the superior choice when buying an SSD.

Quality & Superior performance, years later!! ??
Definitely worth my every dollar spent. I purchased my Samasung 990 PRO w/ Heatsink 2 TB SSD NVMe? M.2 through their official website, original price at release. I used it to upgrade my Ps5 then swapped to my PS5 Pro's system. I am to this day extremely happy and satisfied with this internal ssd upgrade. I can smoothly fit a large portion of my personal game library, including large games, and accessing them all at super quick speeds. Haven't had any issues or performance hiccups to this day!!. I can feel the top quality definitely worth my it ??

The SSD is amazing and easy to install. I was able to get it working within 10 minutes, and now I load all my games faster than any of my friends (not downloading but)

Best drive for gaming and intensive work
Best drive I have used. Upgraded for the space and to wanted something faster than the stock NVME for gaming. Best decision I made. Initially tried crucial and found it lacking but since upgrading to this I've had no issues with lag or memory slow down.

Really High speed. I need it mostly to maintain my homelab. I have a high speed internet and intranet so having a high speed ssd to keep up with the data speeds is really helpful.

SAMSUNG NVMe M.2 SSD 990 PRO. Super Upgrade!
This NVMe was used in my 2022 G733ZX while adding drive space, I put the 990 PRO as my root drive for performance and reliability. I replaced my RAM with new modules adding 32 GB. A clean install of Windows 11 PRO. I did overlook my CPU and GPU. This unit performs as well as the new Strix Scars, especially the 2024 models. My D:/ drive is a Samsung 980 PRO, which was my original C:/ drive. Excellent upgrade path. My 3 year old laptop runs as good and better than many of the recent, new, High End Gaming Laptops. A must for your gaming console
Purchased it on Black Friday for my newly bought PS5. Have been using for over 6 months. No issues in terms of installation, usage, heat related, etc. Have been saving games on it for a while and no issues thus far.

May be spectacular BUT I can't install it
I gave this a 2-star rating because I have been very satisfied with other Samsung SSD drives and products I have owned. This 990 Pro 4 TB I don't know anything about because I can't install it in my new motherboard and "Support" at the 1-800-Samsung number was totally NON-supportive.
I am working on a new pc build and have been looking forward to working with these SSD's as a potentially great improvement. I ordered all the components I need in late June and they have been arriving in multiple deliveries since then with the final critical component arriving just last Friday, 4 weeks later. I had been waiting until I had all components available on hand before beginning work. Unfortunately these SSD's were among the first deliveries so when I was able to begin work, the return window had closed the week before.
Neither Samsung nor the motherboard manufacturer has any specifics listed about dimensions. To be on the safe side I had ordered then with the Heat Sink option not knowing what the options would be on the motherboard. When I opened the first chip and set it in the slot I discovered that the Heat Sink made it too thick to fit under the substantial motherboard heat sink.
I needed to contact support. At this point I only opened the seal for the one chip to check the fit, the remaining 3 are still sealed in their original boxes. The one chip was only gently fit checked and never even powered up before returning it to its' original packaging.
What I was hoping for was to exchange the 3 unopened, sealed units for the same 990 Pro WITHOUT the Heat Sink which is actually a less expensive unit. I wasn't asking for a refund, only the exchange. While I can understand Samsung not wanting to accept a return of the one opened but unused unit, I can't understand the refusal to even consider evaluating the other returns because the "return window" was closed due to circumstances beyond my control.
When I first contacted support I was told I needed to call back the next day. OK, I didn't even expect anyone to be working a Sunday shift. When I called "Support" in the morning I was very patient, Check the recordings, and when transferred to the Tech Department I wound up being left on HOLD for literally over an hour. When I gave up waiting and immediately called right back I was speaking to the very same person who had placed me on hold for over and hour although they did actually transfer me the second time.
All I wanted to do was speak to someone who could actually evaluate the specifics of the situation and provide an informed answer. These are expensive (x4) units and now I am stuck with something I can't use and the prospect of having to spend much more money to resolve the issue. Hopefully they will live up to their hype.
The review guidelines say to review the product and not the service but due to the service I am UNable to review the product because I can't use them.

Top tier reliable performance, not too pricey.
These drives are still top of their division. The performance is ultra fast, very reliable, and the drive software is better than most other manufacturers.
I can't think of another brand that's come close to performing as consistently well as Samsung has over the past decade in the SSD space
