Great bino’s - need an ARD
These are a fantastic set of bino’s and excellent value for German glass. The only disappointment is that Steiner do not offer an ARD (anti-reflective device) for this model which is unusual given the “tactical” purpose of these.
The Steiner T42r Tactical 10x42 R Binocular combines fully multicoated optics with a rubber armored fogproof housing to produce the image quality and handling characteristics required by tactical professionals. The 10x42 lens system uses Steiner's High-Definition lens elements and phase-corrected prisms to transmit bright images with enhanced color fidelity and contrast. The 10x42 R Tactical binocular is outfitted with the Steiner Universal Mil Reticle (SUMR). This close to long-range targeting reticle has mil-hash markings along its posts (10 mil / 5 mil increments) and fine crosshair (1 mil / 0.5 mil / 0.2 mil) to enable quicker and more effective communication between spotter and shooter as well as other tactical operatives.
This configuration from the Tactical series has a 60deg. apparent viewing angle and can focus to within seven feet, making this optic well-suited for tactical use as well as birding, hunting and almost any close to mid-range glassing activity. A nitrogen-filled fogproof housing provides this binocular with the build quality needed to endure unforgiving weather conditions. Steiner's Two-Way Valve system enables air to be more effectively drawn from the optical housing and replaced with inert, non-condensing nitrogen. Non-slip rubber armoring, twist-up rubber eyecups and a comfortable 17.4mm eye relief equip the 10x42 R Tactical binocular with the features needed for reliable and comfortable outdoor viewing.
