I have had this scope for about a couple years now. I got mine from Midway for a great deal (meaning, don't pay MSRP). I use it for hog hunting and target shooting. At the range it performs well. I have smoked pigs out to 300+ yards in the field. I'm running it on a Bushmaster ACR in 6.8 SPC. Detailed review below. Here's the TLDR: The scope works very well and I would generally recommend, but just know your limited on support and accessories. The Good: The image very clear. Weight is nice, very manageable. Turrets work great, though I wish Steiner sold blanks so I could get some customs made (hint, hint). Illumination/focus is simple. Love the locking diopter--thank you Steiner for seeing reason! MHR reticle (tick-mark portion) is useless at 2x, but the thick duplex gets you there until about 6x when the MHR becomes relevant. Note, Steiner now offers a second-focal plane version that fixes this (good for Steiner on listening to feedback here). Seems like Steiner isn't married to this line. Not much for this line in the way of accessories, or maybe I'm missing something? Would like to see scope shades, locking turret caps, turret blanks, throw levers, etc. If there are any, then I may just be ignorant and ignore this. The bad: The scope caps that came stock with this scope are GARBAGE (e.g., don't stay shut) and after calling to get new ones / troubleshoot at least three times, Steiner doesn't care. Stock ones have been sold out; no advice for alternates. I mean, it is a "hunting" line... you'd think a set of caps would be pretty easy to figure out. I was irked by this because the T6xi series apparently comes with Tenebraex caps (good quality). When I asked about the same for the H6xi, Steiner doesn't carry that. Further, while Tenebraex was willing to help, they couldn't recommend a product without the internal thread pitch for the objective lens. When I asked Steiner about that, I was told it was top secret, highly classified, held in Area 51, "ITAR controlled information." I mean I get it, but c'mon man, its a thread pitch... Anyway, I used some calipers and got the external diameters for the lenses. Spoke with the folks at MK Machining (good people). After trouble shooting, they sent me some caps to try (Sizes: Objective 2.006", Ocular 1.742"). Tight fit, but a little grease and they're on there nice and my lenses are protected! If I had to do it again, I'm not sure I would go the same way knowing how the support and customer service have been floundered for this line, but I am impressed with the quality and build and generally happy with performance.
