Review Summary
Designed specifically for the most natural color reproduction and the highest possible light transmission over the visible color spectrum, the new Peregrine from Steiner brings birds and wildlife perched in the shadows into a sharp, bright image. Phase corrected and fully multi-coated with Steiner exclusive broadband HD (High Definition) lens coating . The dielectric prism coating is the heart of the Peregrine's broadband performance, with over 40 coating applications on all air-to-glass prism surfaces. The optics are ground, polished and coated by Steiner-Germany's master lens makers.
Steiner's fast-focus system brings distance to close-focus in slightly less than one full revolution of the ultra precise focus wheel, with an amazing close focus distance of only 5.2' for the 8x42 (6.0 for the 10x42). Long eye-relief (20 mm) for eyeglasses, or extended, profiled eye-cups for hours of viewing comfort.
The Peregrine can also go (and fly!) anywhere, because of their waterproof construction to 5 meter submersion depth and sleek, rubber armored and shock proof body. The Peregrines feature classic styling, in a beautiful non-reflective forest green color finished with a handsome falcon crest. They include a super comfort padded carry strap, rain guard, attached and removable objective caps and a deluxe case.
