MIKE S : could you tell more about the multulayer solid foam, is it like the kazen foam ?DAVID B : No it is not. There are three pieces of foam. A flat piece on the bottom, the egg carton textured piece on the top, and a flat piece in the middle. You cut the piece in the middle to the shape of your weapon. It's a pretty dense and soft foam.DIANA J : The multilayer solid foam mentioned in this Pelican iM3200 is not like the kaizen foam. Solid is the keyword here. The multilayer means there are two layers of thick 'solid' foam in the bottom of the case so that when you make your cut-outs you will be cutting through the top layer of foam and still have a thick solid piece of foam in the bottom of the case. There is one thick solid layer of foam in the top of the lid. (Judge your item/items carefully for depth, for you do not want to cut into the bottom of the foam for it could compromise the cushion safety of the treasured item inside). You can get either the egg shell foam or the solid foam for the lid. I chose the solid. These are super cases and I will always buy Pelican for the quality.WILLIAM S : It is NOT like the krazen foam. It is not pre-cut into 1cm squares. You must carefully outline the item you want to store, and then using an extendable blade shop knife, cut the first layer. DO NOT cut into the second layer.DAVID D : I am NOT familiar with Kazen foam. However, the foam in this unit is fine. It is very easy to cut to shape around your hardware. You need a serrated kitchen knife to do this. Have fun.

Great case!

The Pelican Storm iM3200 Case is very well constructed. The shell is rigid and thoughtfully designed to facilitate stable stacking of similar cases; there are recessed channels to prevent lateral movement and a back-stop so the case cannot slide off the back. Four well placed and sturdy pad-lockable tabs spanning the front side of the case are part of the mold. Six oustanding latches (four in front, one on each side) lock down the lid. The latches will not open accidentally during transport because there is a button on each latch which must be depressed in order to release the latch; the operation of these latches is simple and easy. The regular Pelican case does not use this positive locking feature; it is a carry over from Hardigg's design and definitely a superior latch. The interior foam is dense yet pliable. Custom fitting by tracing the object onto the foam then using an electric carving knife is very easy to accomplish. The case has wheels for ease of transport and handles that are very comfortable dense rubber. I have now purchased a second case and am completely satisfied with this product. A summary of attributes are as follows: 1) Excellent impact protection 2) Great functional design 3) Easily customized interior

Awesome heavy duty case

This case was purchased to protect my Remington 700 SPS Tactical and it has done a great job so far. This case is built very solidly and the foam can be cut for custom applications.
