Recently acquired two of these for a project and I wouldn't buy another one. The video is very jittery even when using a G-bit switch and only the computer and the IPUSB2HD2 on the network. Very Disappointed!

We used this product to connect 6 screens in different locations around our building to show Powerpoint presentations, videos and other dynamic content. You'll have to purchase an add-on software from Monitors AnyWhere to control those.

This will work over a 100 Mbit LAN, * However, video frame rate is slow and noticeable. on 1000Mbit it is much improved, and there is not a noticeable difference when using it connected over USB. It took a few reboots for the software to work properly on the desktop, but when it did, it can be set to autorun, and also auto connect to the extender ( Appears if more then 1 extender can be connected like this as well. The nice part, although seems useless to me, is that you can choose to connect the PC to the HDMI port, effectively creating another monitor, which can be mirrored, or extended to this as a totally independent display within the windows settings. you can also choose to connect to the audio capabilities of this device, and then in windows it will show up as a audio device, and you can choose to send audio to it be changing output device. And you can choose to connect to the USB ports, or not. Each of these can be selected as 1, 2 or all three of them in any order. ( I did not try with more then 1 extender, but it is safe to assume that you can connect more if required. The Audio Sync is out quite a bit on a 100 Mbit LAN, and the frame rate is about I'd say 15 fps. Good for presentation that does not require audio sync or fast video updates. 1000Mbit, or connected over a USB-USB for this extender improved this very well, I actually watched a movie over a USB-USB connection and it was bearable. ( Supports Audio over HDMI) Devices that you may want to use over the Extended USB ports ( There are two on this device) are a bit tricky. A joystick worked on 100/1000 LAN, while a Logitech webcam (HD) was recognized, there was not enough data rate for it over the 100 Mbit ( Very Choppy/Green screen Video), worked on 1000Mbit or USB-USB, with very little lag. A special connector I use for a RC Heli Simulator did work, over any connection. Any USB Memory stick did work on any connection speed, Even a External HDD ( 2.5 inch powered by USB) worked. The thing that didn't work was the 10 Meter active USB extension. This cable had a "Generic USB ROOT HUB" and would not be recognized by the Device. The cable worked properly when connected to the computer directly. In my situation, I wanted to use a Flight Simulator on the projector screen, and have the controls farther back with a USB extension, but this will not work, so I will have to resort to a plain extension and run it across the floor instead of around the wall. With this being said, the video on the MS FLight Sim, or Xplane over this extender is somewhat slower frame rate and is noticeable even at the 1 Gps or usb-usb connection. I was hopeing for perfect :-) It will still do the trick. Beats moving a computer just to play a game right? :-) The integration with Audio Device appearing in windows, and the "new monitor" * Note, the actual monitor type is recognized by windows. And the new monitor that you can extend or mirror to is great integration. * NOTE: It appeared to me that the colors were "off" only on one of the monitors that I used, but I have three different ones, and it just seemed more "warmer" then the others. The colors looked proper on an Epson projector. Also note the max resolution is not capable of 1900x1200, for those of you who like highest possible res, this item wont do it.
