For me, all three monitors worked flawlessly for a few months. Recently, my third monitor will not connect through the adapter at all. The monitor is not receiving a signal no matter how many times I power cycle or hit the scan button. Save your money.

I will say, great product, clean design ... love the product ; however, my 3rd monitor will not connect. I have connected, reconnected, scanned, unplugged ... watched video after video ... maybe someone can help ... Computer = (1) DP port , I plug in (3) monitors , go to Windows 10 display settings ... monitor (1) works , monitor (2) is extended but the 3rd monitor , although on, can not be configured, hence it mirrors monitor (2) ... I can not extend displays 1,2,3 ... I have Main display 1 extended to 2,3 and this setup will not change ... regardless of what I do , change cables, unplug, reboot ... nothing. Please help, will include a picture. Thanks in advance

It was great to start with, then my monitor went to sleep. It took 2 months until I could get it started again and I even bought a new PC with extra memory. Then I got it going again, but alas, screen went to sleep. Havent been able to get it going ever since. My best advice, get something more reliable as they're not cheap.

A POSSIBLE solution for multiple monitors, but not a slam dunk by any means. I have a Dell Optiplex 3070 SFF with Intel UHD Graphics 630 at DisplayPort rev 1.2. There is one DP port, one HDMI and one VGA on the integrated video card. The three monitors I wanted to use are all within a couple of years old, all have DP and HDMI inputs and one also has a DVI in. Initially I connected all three monitors to the MST using straight DP. Only one would respond on power up and wake from sleep. The other two would have to be power cycled repeatedly along with repeated pressing of the scan button on the MST. Once they finally responded, if the system was set to sleep the same nonsense with power cycling and re-scanning would have to occur on wake. StarTech FAQs just say to be sure the monitors are set to DP as they were. Failing that Startech recommends not allowing sleep mode - not a workable solution for me, and I still had the failure to respond on power up anyway. After two days of frustration and fiddling I have a passable solution by connecting the one responding DP monitor directly to DP from the MST, one connected to the MST by way of converting the DP to DVI, and one monitor connected to the computer HDMI port. They all respond on power up and wake up properly from sleep. But somehow I think the $150 would have been spent more wisely another way. My recommendation is to look elsewhere for a more reliable solution.

Used to connect a Mini DP port on laptop to DP port in twin external monitors - resolutions inside the ports bandwidth, allowing both external monitors plus the laptop monitor working on extended view. No flickering, lagging or other issues. Plug and go, in accordance with provided instructions. Add some issues on the initial laptop startup or when locked and logging again - contact with support team (great work Lukas) with proper follow up and problem solved. Buy again

Every 5 or 6 wakes, a monitor is missing. normally the one your password box is on, so you fuss arround under the desk pressing the reset button (once if not twice). Sometimes your turning monitors off and on, pulling cables.. Sometimes you give up. Still using it after a few months, but not sure why.

It extends my display to 3 individual screens (not mirrored), so it works well in that aspect. But what irritates me - my Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connections both CEASE FUNCTIONING while this adapter is attached and running. I now have the choice of either having 3 SCREENS WITHOUT WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY, or 1 SCREEN WITH WIRELESS CONNECTIVITY. I obviously need my wireless connectivity, so I'll just take the loss and TRASH this adapter. Future buyers should be aware of this issue which seems to be related to IRQ/resource conflicts between this adapter and the wireless card of certain laptops. This was installed on an OMEN 15 2020 with Intel(R) Wi-Fi 6 AX200 160MHz.

I?ve tried quite a few of these over the years and this one can take a beating and rarely has it ever failed. I have two of them I?m getting ready to buy more. I love it.

I bought this to duplicate a display. I can't get even one monitor to work on it ... and I've tried several different monitors. I'm working with a nearly new HP Prodesk PC with three other monitors and a projector currently in use with no problems. I am trying to duplicate one of the monitors on a fourth display so that our person monitoring the live streaming can adjust the camera PTZ... but I've run out of video outputs on the PC. All monitors work perfectly by themselves. As soon as I connect any of them to the splitter (even each one by themselves... no second monitor on the splitter) the monitor flickers (no actual display) and eventually each goes to sleep due to no coherent signal being present. I've gone over the suggested fixes on the website such as matching refresh rates and resolutions with no change. I can understand issues if resolutions or refresh rates were conflicting ... but with just ONE monitor hooked up there should be no conflicts. I'm open to any suggestions StarTech can offer.

I have connected my Lenovo T450 through its Lenovo 40A1 DisplayPort1.2 compliant dock to two Lenovo T2324pA LCD monitors. And I can have either of the monitors, but not both. No amount of rebooting, detection or power cycling has improved the situation. I have now connected the second monitor via a StarTech USB2VGAE3, and that works. But was more expense than I was expecting.

Works great, but Auto-Sleep does not work with HP 27er monitors. Upon loss of video input, monitors try to sleep, but never do. After five seconds the monitor's backlight comes on again and on screen display gives a message that video signal not found...going to sleep........same thing every five seconds, continues forever, until I have to manually turn off monitor. Tested HP 27 er monitor with straight MiniDP to HDMI adapter connected to computer......no problem. Tested with HP 27f monitor and no problem. MSTMDP123HD will not let HP 27 er monitors sleep. All other functionality is great. Recommend this product for almost perfect, elegant solution for driving 3 monitors (with Intel HD4600 GPU, Windows 10). Perfect for HP 27f monitors. Don't expect any solutions from Intel, HP or Startech if you have HP 27er monitors.

A great solution when wanting to run multiple DVI-D monitors from a single display port output on a desktop. I purchased this MST adaptor (MSTDP122DP) and passive DP to DVI-D cables (DP2DVI2MM6) however after speaking with the knowledgeable guys in technical support I actually needed their active cables (DP2DVIS) to run my DVI monitors with the MST adaptor. A very happy customer.

I am a teacher and I use it everyday for work. I duplicates or extends three screens. One negative thing is that you need to plug it it to an outlet and it has a big plus.

I'm running an Optiplex 7050 to 2 Dell p2414hb @ 1920x1080, connected using dp cables. The monitors display as they should but randomly blackout for a whole second. The blinks are sporadic and I can't pinpoint the exact cause.

I didn’t realize my pc didn’t have a port for this device! It would be nice if initial propaganda specified clearly the needed interface. I’m sure it would have been fabulous if I had the right interface.

I bought this to work with the Surface Studio 1 and the Samsung CHG90. it is a no go and there is very little information about which display adapters/driver pairs actually work with the device. I am sure when it works it is great, but when it does not it takes hours to test everything to find there is not solution.

If you have a device that only has one (1) DisplayPort the 3-Port MST Hub works wonders to add an additional two (2) displays. In today's workspace two monitors are nice but three makes it better. The 3-Port MST hub is easy to use making it an inexpensive/easy upgrade to add additional display. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

Just got this in and installed it on my Surface Pro 3 - it supports a second monitor - and the third monitor winds up displaying the same as the second (assuming the surface pro display is monitor one). Bought this because I assumed Star Tech would simply work - very disappointed.

I bought one of these to allow me to use two monitors in a single displayport. The manual says DP to DVI adapters are supported, so I used those to connect an older set of Dell 1704FPVs as side screens. Both screens are detected by the OS, and allow me to configure them, but no matter what I do I wind up with a "Signal out of Range". I have tried with 4 different models of monitors (all DVI using DVI adapters) on two different computers (one with Nvidia Pscal GPU, one with AMD Vega GPU) and three different operating systems (Windows 10 Professional, Linux Mint 19 and Linux Mint 18.3) In every case the MST hub behaves the same. Monitors are correctly identified by OS, but always show "signal out of range".

I use a laptop for work and have a two monitor display plugged into the system's dock. I love it. But when i go home, i need something to replicate that, and this hub is just the thing. I can quickly take over my home PC's displays by plugging my laptop into this hub. Great for those work from home days. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

I had a laptop with a docking station and only one mini displayport input but I wanted three (the maximum my video card supported) so I decided to give the MSTMDP124DP I test run. It really is PLUG AND PLAY! Being digital (displayport) the display is fantastic and the MSTMDP124DP has a small footprint. I would recommend the MSTMDP124DP for a multi display environment. * I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.

We’re using this on an older Windows 7 laptop that has a mini-display port to broadcast its screen with live data/information to 4 coworkers sitting in an open office. It’s working great so far. It’s a solid metal construction. If you’re tired of the typical VGA hubs and want something a bit better quality and picture than you can’t go wrong with display port. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

This is my 3rd attempt at buying a DisplayPort that I really liked. I've had nothing but good experiences with StartTech but was enticed by a promotion to get something 'cheaper' the first time and recieved a bad recommendation the second time. I came across this and figured It'd be impresive but was quite jaded. I can't say this loudly enough, it will completely affect your experience. Understand what you are trying to solve for, the technology you have and what you're willing to buy if youre missing it. Assuming you follow those guidelines and this model looks good. BUY IT. I've been burned as I said before and I won't bring up the others, but both were pricier except that one was a promotional item so the price was technically less. Let me walk you through the whole process. It showed up in the mail. I wasn't sure what it was. I opened it. It took about 20 seconds to unpackage. I pulled out my existing disaster and replaced it with this in about another 2 minutes just b/c I was being extra careful. I had to take a call and came back. I was actually infuriated at first b/c I thought I got burned again. FAR FROM IT. It worked so well, it took such little effort I was in shock. If I had to say something bad about it, I'd say I wasn't able to get it to work on my MACS but it works on all of my windows machines. Not only that, it works phenomenally (and I feel like I'm being uncharitable by saying it's "Phenomenal". It's small, light, unobtrusive, remarkably simple to set up (I'll put it this way, I think I could give my grandmother one without any fear of her calling asking me how to get it to work). The documentation in the box itself isn't all that substantial but I'd argue that's a feature not a bug b/c you don't need it. If you do the website offers all you need. Just buy the thing and never worry about it again. Like I said, I'd have to try to find something to dislike and I'm sorry, but I'm too impressed with it to have any desire to engage in such a thing

I bought this to run 3 monitors instead of my previous 2. I have my TV plugged in via a mini display port to hdmi cable. And my two monitors split via this hub on the display port output. It took me nearly two hours of tinkering and whatnot to get this working. It worked great once I did. However, next time I turned my computer on, my graphics card only showed my TV and one monitor. But then it blacked both displays and looked like it tried to bring up the other monitor. Then just went back to 2 displays. Repeat until I intervene or my system crashed. Long story short, my computer has crashed more times trying to display on all three monitors (8) than it has actually working with all three monitors (3).

I received this free mini display port splitter to review and it`s been working great - no problems at all. I typically run 2 monitors, but this has allowed me to bump that up to 3 - super useful. Picture quality has been great throughout the time that I`ve used this product. Easy to use, just plug it in and it works, way better for multitasking.

The perfect splitter for daisy chained DP monitors
By CReyes
I bought this two years ago and have had zero problems with it. I hooked up the USB power cord to an extension cable to give me ample room. It takes two DisplayPort monitors and daisy chains the signal so it can go into a single DP connection.
Be empowered with the DisplayPort to 2x DisplayPort MST Hub, designed to enhance your digital experience by connecting two monitors to your DisplayPort (DP) 1.2 equipped Windows laptop or desktop. This USB-powered hub requires no additional power source, making it a convenient and efficient solution for your computing needs.
Boost your productivity by connecting two independent displays to your computer using this MST Hub. It's designed to work with a wide range of low-cost adapters, allowing you to connect to virtually any television, monitor, or projector. With support for resolutions up to 4K, you can expect superior external video performance.
This MST hub is VESA and DisplayPort certified, ensuring compatibility with DP 1.2 graphics cards such as AMD Radeon with Eyefinity Technology. The plug-and-play installation feature makes setup a breeze, while the newly engineered chipset enhances compatibility.
Experience the convenience of multiple screens. This MST hub allows you to connect two additional displays to your computer, making multitasking easier than ever. Whether you're working on graphic design, gaming, or medical imaging, this hub offers unprecedented performance, delivering Ultra HD 4K resolutions without draining system resources.

This ensures your MST hub will work with virtually any television, monitor, or projector. It's designed to support DP 1.2 enabled systems, offering seamless integration with your existing video equipment.
Configure your displays to suit any environment. With the MST hub, you can extend your desktop onto additional monitors and stream independent content to each display. This gives you the freedom to multitask and increase your productivity. You can also mirror the same image onto multiple displays for remote viewing applications such as digital signage.
The MSTDP122DP supports plug-and-play installation for a hassle-free setup. It's perfect for high-resolution applications such as graphic design, gaming, and medical imaging. With average resolution bandwidth allocation ranging from 22% for 1920x1080 (High-definition 1080p) @60hz to 38% for 3840 x 2160 (Ultra HD 4K) @30hz, this MST hub is designed to meet your diverse digital needs.
Whether you're using one screen for reference data while composing in another, docking your DP 1.2 device to add two high-resolution displays to your workstation, creating a panoramic video wall for DisplayPort digital signage applications, editing images, video or audio clips across two additional displays in any orientation or resolution, or spanning a spreadsheet or worksheet across two additional displays to avoid side-scrolling, this MST hub is the perfect solution.
Please note: When using a DisplayPort 1.1 video card, the MST hub will act as a splitter, automatically mirroring your video source across all displays. Resolution limitations apply. Exceeding 100% will reduce functionality. DisplayPort 1.2 with MST+HBR2 support from the GPU is required for independent display output.
