This model is great if you already have a light with IR illuminator and do not care about zeroing the green laser and IR laser individually. Those are the main two features between this model and the A3 which saves you hundreds of dollars. Both lasers are super bright and crisp. The pressure switch provided works well but I recommend buying the dual pressure switch from surefire to operate the laser and light using less rail space. Highly recommend for duty use and for civilian use. No complaints as I knew what I was purchasing met my needs.

Powerful enough for any reasonable distance on night engagements. Not being co-aligned is not really an issue ifi you have a little experience with laser zeroing. Study up on converging zeros and you will be up and running in no time at all. Highly recommend for a quality device at a reasonable price point.

I just received my DBAL a couple of days ago and have not yet had a chance to mount it to a host (hence 4 stars). However, the initial impressions are great. Lightweight, easy to understand setup, etc. I will be running this with a Unity Tactical TAPS SYNC switch, and that test setup went flawlessly. Once I have the rest of the host rifle, I will definitely be running this beast through it's paces.

Purchase back in 2017. Recommend as simple duty use device or hobbiest looking for another option than higher end laser devices from Steiner or L3. I don't own any NV equipment so I can't vouch for IR portion of the unit. DBAL I2 has 2 beams, a visible and a IR. There is no Illuminator. It works perfectly for me as a visible laser device. Was originally looking for a single visible beam, but these were in short supply. Unit is smaller than ATPIAL/PEQ-15. Easy to mount....many after market mounts available as well.

I bought this about 2 years ago. I've used it on numerous occasions during the day and several times at night including two fighting rifle classes under the cover of darkness. I've never had any issues with the unit. Once it's zeroed you're good to go. The battery life is long and doesn't burn through batteries quickly.

I bought my DBAL about a month ago, it is a solid piece of equipment, great reputation and easy to navigate. It's a game changer.

So far a great civilian laser. My only complaint was that the product description (on GovX) did not indicate a contact switch was included with the product so I ended up spending $50 for a contact switch that I didn't need.

I purchased this product 2 months ago. It took me a while to get all my other gear together (NVD goggles, etc) but am super happy with the product. I think this gear is part of a game changer in the realms of self defense, hunting from dusk to dawn and in preparation for break downs in social and infrastructure systems. Better to have it than wish I would have!

I really can't believe how nice this fits my Glock 34. Besides looking freakin awesome, it has I.R. to go with my night vision set up. Also, I find that 400 lumens for a white light is really all you need. My instructor actually mentioned last month that people are buying/chasing more lumens but it actually can be bad for some situations.

This was exactly what I was shopping for. Looked at every other device in this category and found the DBAL-12 to be the best choice. Performance is equal to the higher priced civilian devices. I was happy to se the size was smaller and light er than expected. Perfect fit. Best price was on Amazon

I’ve had the Dbal I2 single spectrum for about a month now. For around $700 it is a great unit. A few things to note: the stock mount is junk and broke on me at the first range trip. It’s a weak point and is poorly designed. I debated sending it back to Steiner, but they would just send me another one just like it so I swapped it for an ADM and it’s been great since. The stock switch is also junk and doesn’t stay plugged in. Insight switches work fine, leading me to believe Steiner just makes a cheap switch. Otherwise, it works as well as any civilian legal IR laser/illuminator. The illuminator is only good out to about 25m and even though it’s adjustable, it’s really not it just changes the size of the beam, not the intensity. The illuminator is unusable on the low setting. The laser is crisp and powerful enough for any reasonable uses. On high it reaches out at least 1000m and doesn’t have too much bloom at close range. Overall, this is a decent value but make sure you manage your expectations. There are a lot of “pretend features” for the price, I.e. you get a faux adjustable illuminator and a really dismal remote switch and terrible QD Mount. But for under $700 it gets the job done.

Can not believe for this price what a complete joke this product was and is, IL keep this short and sweet, no battery life, and can't hold zero. I feel bad for even having the garbage near my sig mk25

Best made quality laser money can buy. Very very solid sealed housing with an extremely accurate laser. Excellent excellent product. Don't buy cheap stuff. Save the extra money and you will have something that will last not to mention still be worth your investment instead of buying cheap stuff that eats up batteries and won't hold zero. Spend the money and have something you can depend on working when/if you need it. It's a very good laser and batteries last a long time in it. Once you get it you'll immediately see just how high quality it really is and you won't regret it plus if you decide to ever get a different model you will not have any trouble selling it because everyone knows the quality of Steiner. Thank you Steiner for making such quality products instead of making cheap junk to make more money. It is harder every day to find companies that make quality products anymore as most revert to making cheap products in order to make more money, it is nice to still have a quality company that continues to make extremely high quality products.

I am real happy with the overall experience with my purchase. I ordered through Optics planet(real quick shipping!) The green pointer laser stands out better and further than red(day or night). Nice solid clamp. I recommend if going with a red dot sight, get a 1/3 cowitness mount to optimize field of view on the optic. Picture shown is absolute cowitness Scalarworks, with Trijicon MRO, with DBAL I2 in the background. I wish the switch in the back had more distinct clicks for switching between off position, IR, and laser pointer. The clicks feel a little cheap, but the rest of the unit is built rock solid!! Real good price for this device. I own the red laser version(I2) and never had a problem with clamping or operating!

A major reason I purchased this product was Steiner reputation for quality and their extensive experience of supplying these type of devices to US combat forces/special forces.

I purchased this unit from a fellow officer as part of my updated/interstated kit. This is a prices of equipment than while possibly redundant, is one of those items you'd rather have when the need arises. The IR component is good for marking potenyltial threats for fellow team members without disclosing your position. The visible laser is great for threat de-escalation and redunancy in the event my primary red for optics fails at an inopportune moment. All in all, a worthwhile piece of equipment.

Good strong IR illuminator with the IR laser. The visible flashlight is weak as compared to competitors' lumuns, and the beam can not be focused. Problem: The screws for adjusting elevation and windage are small and very tight to turn. Steiner should provide the appropriate tool for elev/wind adjustments; had to find a jeweler's screw driver. Additionally, the screw heads are made of a soft material and subject to screw head damage. Fits tightly and inline (horizontal) with the barrel on a picatinny rail, but does not align with the barrel for pistols with rail notches (e.g. Glocks). The only reason I bought this thing was due to it having a IR/VIS laser system that would fit a pistol.

NOT RELIABLE. DO NOT USE IN BATTLE. 4 times it kills batteries in 1-2 days WITHOUT USE. At first, I thought the IR was left on, so I checked with nods after shutting it off. Also, It's the heavier than any other light/laser combo I have.

I bought a DBAL (green/IR) and it simply stopped working. No drops, it wasn't damaged or struck by some object, it just stopped working. I called the support line, emailed, etc. and never received any feedback.
