This would work on my other sata drives but it won't read my Seagate hybrid sata drive. Tried customer support but didn't get a solution.

needed to transfer OS on to SSD, but lead doesnt appear to recognise any drive connected to it , i am using windows 11 so unsure if drivers are an issue , checked startech web site under drivers and no download option so at a loss with what to do with this cable !!!/?

I had some old hard drives from over a decade ago sitting around and didn't want to completely mount them to check them etc etc. This device was perfect. It took seconds for me to start searching through those drives to find old pictures, memories, files and the like.

Bought this a year ago and have used on multiple SATA drives which it worked fine for, much convenience. Tried to use it on an IDE drive more recently, and the cord coming off literally blocks the power from plugging into the drive, making it completely useless.

I bought this to use with a Seagate Barracuda Sata drive from my old computer. The drive will spin but the computer will not recognize it. Work great witj a lap top sata drive. Could not find any help on the internet.

Purchased in May 2017 to clone a failing IDE drive in a legacy computer w windows XP. Setup was simple. Made the clone w/o incident using free software from easeus. Replaced the failing drive with the clone. Works perfectly. Even a novice can do this.

We use this in our IT dept as we have many legacy laptops and PC's with various HDD connections. This product has always worked provided the drive is actually working mechanically. I've never actually been compelled to write a review before but this adapter is great. We have 2 of them now and will no doubt try the USB 3.0 one at some point.

This is a neat tool for quickly retrieving and looking at data on old IDE drives without having to open you computer case and fool with wires.
