As a concept, this device is amazing. It is a shame that it is discontinued, but i would love a revision 2 of this product with the following changes that i feel would make it really knock the alternatives out of the park. 1. Make the USB mode UVC Compliant, this would make it possible to use this device across multiple platforms and OS's and make it work better with popular software such as OBS, teams, discord, etc - anythign that supports standard video devices basically. 2, second to above, it needs linux support, so bad. it's not a standard UVC device, so there's no obvious or easy way to get it to work on anythign other than windows with the now very out dated drivers. 3, 1080p streaming. The built in streaming seems to be limited to 720p which is a shame. it works, and via this and the use of say nGinx, you can use it in this mode to connect to OBS on Linux or Mac as a stream input however this comes with delay of course. 3. Composite video mode. A real shame that it's Component, and not composite, this really limits its usability in the retro console space or as a way to stream the output of SD cameras.

Generally a good product. A few things are not mentioned in the manual 1. The need to format the SD card to FAT 32. I had to dig out an old laptop to format the SD card. 2. Starting to record on to an SD card, including what the various lights mean. 3 The need to connect everything together and have input device on before applying USB power.

I bought this device to use specifically with an SD card. Cards come formatted as exFat by default and windows only lets you select exFat or NTFS for a reformat of a 64GB card (anything >5Gb i believe). Once I used a third party formatting tool to format the card to FAT32 it worked really well. This important step is not documented in your manual, just in the product description webpage

Tech specs list S-video in and out. There is neither. I was planning to use S-video output to a monitor but that's not possible. Would be nice to have some option other than HDMI. I don't need HDMI quality for monitoring purposes. Tech specs need to be corrected.

Very pleased with how small and light this capture device turned out to be. USB powered is an added bonus and reduces cable clutter. Setup was easy though the included streaming software is light on features. I was able to get it working with OBS with relative ease and was immensely impressed with the output quality. I would definately recommend this device to anyone looking for a small, light, capture card capable of high quality output. I received this product in exchange for an unbiased review.

This is an interesting product but I did have some issues with connections dropping. I was using this unit with windows 10 and was using a fairly powerful pc. Installation appeared to be easy and i had no issues. I was using an old dvd/vcr combo unit to bring in some old tapes. The software works easily enough but for some reason it would occasionally just drop out and I would loose connection. I have used an internal card before and have never had this drop out. I am assuming it may have to do with it being Usb based. I am going to attempt direct to sd which i think will be just what may do the trick for me. Overall the quality was ok. I just have this drop out which to me is frustrating. I received this in exchange for an unbiased review

I have been in the AV/IT Integration space for over 30 years. I found this unit easy to setup and use on my Microsoft, Android and Apple devices. I like the SD card slot, which lets you record video directly to a card without having to connect the capture device to your computer. The included software enabled me to stream and record content with my Windows computer and take screenshots, schedule recordings and instantly stream video over the Internet. A bonus feature is that this device is USB powered, which eliminates an additional power adapter. I was trying to livestream a wedding to Twitch and it was constantly dropping the connection every 20-30 seconds and then it would reconnect. With that kind of flakey connection, it was completely unusable. I ended up using a laptop and a hangouts livestream to youtube which worked perfectly (and proved the internet connection was not the issue). I can't comment on the SD card because I never used that feature. If you are considering this product for live streaming, you may want to look at Teradek.

We bought it as it was supposed to work with live streaming to youtube. But sadly, it does not work. the audio of the live stream is so choppy that it is unusable. Very disappointed.
