I bought this tripod as a light weight alternative to my heavy professional tripod. So far, I am not impressed. Although the fluid like head is well designed and functions well for the price, the quick release feature should go. I have yet to use a tripod quick release that really held the camera firmly. Furthermore the platform the quick release fits in does not lock in a position that is parallel to the ground as it should. I like the quick release leg latches, but the light weight frame flexes too much. In my opinion and without exception, heavy weight tripods beat light weight tripods every time for stability. The one thing I do like about this tripod is the monopod feature. Although the tripod is too big to carry on an airplane, I found I can pack the monopod section in a suitcase and check it at the airport. I asked a TSA agent about monopods in luggage and he told me that the TSA Agents see enough of them on x-rays to know what they are and pass them through. My assessment is that I will use it as a monopod when I travel, but the tripod configuration will be used as a light stand.

This tripod is great if you plan on doing street or sport shooting and don't want to bring the tripod along , altough it folds down pretty small so I can attach it to my backpack it is a little on the heavy side but therefore it is very sturdy, I didn't had to buy a seperate monopod it comes with 2 detachable headplates , the monopod is easy to disassemble from the tripod and it's easy to put back together, for the price this combination is sure to look at . I am very pleased with this purchase.
