Its superior load capacity makes it the ideal choice for professional cameras and telephoto lenses. The FB-52MAC14 features a quick-release mechanism, allowing for easy attachment and detachment of your camera. With a maximum load capacity of 44 lb, it's versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of cameras and equipment. The ballhead's friction knob ensures steady support, even when loaded with equipment. However, it's important to note that the friction knob should not be loosened simultaneously with the main lock knob to prevent accidental equipment drops. The FB-52MAC14 also includes a 3/8" standard screw hole, compatible with a 1/4" 1 3/8" converting screw. Its 52mm ball provides a larger load capacity for steadier support, and the easy-to-adjust friction knob further enhances stability. Designed with convenience in mind, this ballhead features a long knob suitable for cameras such as IDXII, D5, and more. It also includes an external bubble level for easy leveling. The FB-52MAC14 comes with a MAC-14 Manfrotto/Arca Compatible Clamp, CNC machined from lightweight aircraft-grade aluminum. This clamp is compatible with all Arca-Swiss style plates and Manfrotto 200PL-14, offering a versatile jaw opening range of 37.25mm to 41.5mm. The MAC-14 clamp is uniquely designed with safety stop relief grooves to protect your camera from accidental drops. Decided on Sunwayfoto after looking a while and reading reviews on "travel" ballheads from Sunwayfoto, Markins and Photoclam. The contruction seems to be top notch for similar heads. I thought that I would like the all metal knobs but they were actually hell on my fingers. The 40lbs max load is a joke. I had my 5DIII on there with an 85 1.2 and the ball head moved around way too easily despite me tightening the knob to the max. It is very light at 10.7 ounces and a good fit for the Gitzo 1541 but the load capacity is a dealbreaker for me. I returned after a few days of use.
