This kit includes the MAC-14 Arca & Manfrotto Compatible Clamp, a robust piece of equipment that is CNC machined from aluminum for durability and reliability. The MAC-14 Clamp is designed to be compatible with both Arca-type plates and Manfrotto 200PL plates, offering a wide range of options for photographers. Its built-in bull's-eye bubble level aids in aligning your camera to the horizon, ensuring perfect balance for every shot. The clamp features a locking knob for easy adjustment or removal of the plate, providing a secure and stable platform for your camera. For precision positioning, the MAC-14 Clamp is equipped with a numbered scale, allowing for meticulous placement of Arca-type plates. It also includes two safety stop grooves, designed to accommodate plates with safety screws, preventing accidental sliding and ensuring the security of your equipment. The MAC-14 Clamp can be easily mounted onto a tripod or ball head, thanks to its 3/8"-16 threaded hole. The kit also includes a 1/4"-20 bushing adapter for added flexibility. The MAC-14T Kit also comes with the MAP-01 and MAP-02 Adapter Bushings. This product appears to be of high quality design and machining. Everything was as expected. I have not yet used it extensively in the field but have worked with it for a couple hours. It's sturdy and clamps tightly for a solid fit on my Manfrotto 200 PL base. This is a well thought out design to accept both Arca type bases and Manfrotto bases.
The kit comes with two adaptor bushings used to mate the clamp to a Manfrotto ball head. My situation needed the MAP-02 bushing which required minor tuning to fit properly as the lower male key was a bit deep and bottomed out in the keyway on the ball head. This required a bit of filing to allow clearance so the bushing would seat solidly on the round flange. Also the same male key is a bit narrow in the ball head slot and required a .020" shim to lock it into the keyslot to keep it snug. These were minor fixes and made a noticeable difference.
If I didn't like this product, I would not have purchased a second one.
