This is the second SunwayFoto XB-28 Low-Profile tripod head I've purchased in 2 years. Both are made with excellent quality and and operate very smoothly. I use them on travel tripods to keep the weight and bulk down, and in this roll, they are excellent. The head easily supports my Canon 5D Mark IV with Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 IS L USM ii zoom lens, and that's a pretty hefty package. Highly recommended!

I paired this ball head with the FLM CP10 tabletop tripod for my hiking / traveling kit. Combined they weigh just over a pound. While I haven't gone on my trip yet, I have tested the combo at home with a small DSLR and kit lens. Unsing a remote shutter release, this combo was solid. I anticipate using the ball head to shoot panoramas, since the panning base is separate from the ball.

This conservative head can be deceiveing. It'll hold a fairly heavy load with rather a long lens and lock up tight for no drift or wobble. I'm pretty sure there's no plastic to grip the ball which would explain the grips tenacity. Pan is smooth and locks securely. The price belies the value so get one or two before they wise up to sell them for what they're worth. With two that came withT1A20D table top tripods I ordered a bare head to mount on a 85mm lens plate to use on all my tripods. So I've got 3 total now and I'm quite smug about it. So there!

It is difficult, (this was the only one I could find) to find a short sturdy ball head with independent pan. This suits that need. It is well made with Arca compatible clamp to boot. My only complaint is that it took Adorama more than 2 months to deliver, and I was not notified of availability for a few days. This happens with them most of the time. Like 7 out of 9 attempted purchases. I am delighted that it did finally become available. Even though I purchased an inferior product in the meantime. Oh well, now that one will be a spare.

When I opened the box my first thought was this is way to small. It's never going to work. However, it clamps tightly to an Arca plate as well as the RRS L-Bracket. I used it this weekend at my grandaughter's soccer match. It had no problem with the Canon 7D with Sigma 150-600 attached. It's a perfect complement to a compact monopod. Given the size and the price, I am very impressed so far. We'll see how well it holds up.

I purchased this to use on a mono-pod while hiking. The light weight and small size made it ideal for my purpose. It works well with a D 810 and up to a 70-200 f/2.8 lens but that is about the most I would use it with. The quick release clamp works well as does the clamping lever re-positioning system.

I acquired a focusing rail that was incompatible with my regular ballhead. i wanted something inexpensive but durable, and that's what I got in the XB-28. Since it will nearly always be used with an Olympus OM E-5, the smaller size of the SB-28 is a plus, but I would feel comfortable mounting my Nikon D300 on it as well. It is well worth the price, and I would recommend it.
