keith m : How do I determine which 303 British I have ?ERIK P : The two most common 303 British rifles are the SMLE Mk III and the No. 4 Mk I. The SMLE was the standard rifle during WW I and the No. 4 began to replace it during WW II. The SMLE has its rear sight on the barrel forward of the action and the No, 4 has its rear sight mounted on the rear part of the action itself. The SMLE front sight and its protective ears are mounted very near the front end of the barrel. The No.4 rifle's barrel extends a couple of inches in front of the front sight and its protective ears.

Works good at a good price.

The mount has a cam locking washer that needs to be a bit more robust. Sun optics should put a video showing how to attach it on YouTube. Once it was attached it does a good job as a scope mount.
