Ok product for the price. Incredibly light weight but sturdy.

This tripod has an easy setup, but it is pretty cheaply made. The locking plate that screws into the bottom of the camera does not securely sit inside space on top of the tripod. My 5D Markiii wobbles back and forth inside the space and there seems to be no way to better fit the plate by tightening all screws. I'm still able to use it, but shooting with it is annoying, and it wasn't something that I noticed when I looked the tripod over in the store before buying. Would not recommend this tripod.

Purchased this for still photography. Two of the three plastic leg caps (covers on end of each tripod leg) came off on first use and would not stay on. This allowed the lower portion of the telescoping legs to slide all the way up into the second portion of the telescoping legs and now cannot be pulled out. Constantly battling the QR plate-difficult to get camera on and off.

Just what I needed. The old tripod was a flimsy, aluminum legged thing with poor construction. This looks like it will really hold up.

I did a lot of homework on the Web to find the right tripod for my purposes and at the level I am as a serious amateur still photographer. After reviewing several product descriptions and articles on the Web,I came upon an article on Adorama's on-line Learning Center about how to choose a tripod. From that article, I decided a durable pan/tilt tripod with an easy quick release mount would serve my purposes. I truly found what I was looking for when I checked for Pan/Tilt tripods on Adorama's product site and found the Smith-Victor 720H Hybrid with 3-way head. It's maximum height is 62 1/4 inches perfect for my height (6 ft.); It's minimum height is 10 inches. Closed it is 22 3/4 inches. It carries a maximum load of 16 lbs. The net weight of the tripod is 3-3/4 lbs.. I liked the idea of it having three sections for durability in use. The legs are very durable. The legs have secure flip locks with rubber feet. The quick- release camera mounting plate is compatible for a 1/4" camera socket. It comes with a heavy duty nylon bag. The tripod can be used for still photography and video photography. The pan/tilt head is very easy to use and I really like the ease of use of the quick-release. I found the tripod very easy to carry around with me for nature photography, landscapes, night photography. The price was right at around $74.00 tax included with free expedited delivery. I received the tripod in excellent condition in about a day and 1/2. I would highly recommend this tripod for beginning, intermediate and advanced photographers for its ease of use, durability. versatility, and great value.
