Shopper : how are the cameras powered?A R S : The cameras are electrically powered, so you will need an electrical plug nearby or a power cordCSUN C : Each camera has a power supply that is plugged into a regular wall outlet - just like any other camera, appliance etc. The power cable is about 6 feet long. I know it is not showing in the photos - most likely to make the item more attractive and to make it look like it is battery powered. You would not be very happy with batteries though since they do loose power eventually and you will not get the safety/recorded images that you are looking for if this is used to monitor your home. Also keep in mind, the distance that is mentioned in how far the cameras can reach is much smaller if there are walls in between the monitor/screen and the cameras. SVAT is using these distances without taking into consideration that homes have walls and some are made with bricks, metal beams or other thick and dense materials that sometimes reduce the distance that the wireless signal can reach by half. This was very disappointing to me as I needed to use the cameras in different areas and the signal would not come through because the cameras were setup in other rooms!JAY B : Don't buy there are better systems out there that you can monitor from your smart phone, laptop,or any computer that has internet access!!!!!GARY L : You have to plug them in. They are not battery operated or run on a wireless network, so you must have a power supply in the vicinity for each camera. The same for the monitor.DAVID I : The cameras themselves are powered by a basic AC plug and come with a decent amount of wire. I have one camera mounted outside and was ablet to run the wire into the house through a very small hole that I drilled through the metal of my window frame.MIKE D : The cameras require local 110vJOHN E : AC adapter and a ten foot wire.
Shopper : can you view both cameras at the same time on the monitor?KRISTOPHER S : You can view one camera or four cameras. If you only have two cameras when you veiw, it divids the screen into four squares, so two of them are blank. You can not record whikle viewing.JOHN E : Yes, up to four cameras! MIKE G : Some DVR software will allow the choice of 1,4,8 or 16 cameras on screen at a time.
Shopper : Would I be able to expand the memory? Use a larger SD card, or hook it up to a dvr to record a week at a time? With the night shots are people identifiable? Is everyone still happy with this system?KRISTOPHER S : the night vision is better than stated, the people are grainy if to far away. I know you can have a bigger sd card, but not the size. We are have an problem with the motion sensor working on night vision when both cameras are connected, but we are working on the with the help desk. You can only record one camera at a time with the sd card. Don't know if you can hook it up to a dvr. You can call 1-866-946-7828 with questions. Yes we are happy with the quality of the picture.CHRIS H : You can use a 32g card. The recording is revolving. when it fills up it will start all over. I have a 2g which is fine with me because you will know if you house is broken into then just watch the recording other than that there is no need for alot of memory. Just set the system to record on trigger. When set to trigger record it wil only record when the camera picks up a moving object. I have mine set for 15 secs. You can if there close enough. Hope this helps.JOHN E : Yes, you can get larger cards, but it just makes for more files to look through. Remember, the focus point for this camera is twenty feet! The best part of this system is the many features it has usually available on more expensive systems. Read the specs!

Security around the yard . Watching deer when they come in to eat , very clear during the daytime , nighttime varies with conditions for distance you can see , but it is a pretty good product , compared to some of the others I have tried , I would recommend to others ,

The camera provides a nice clear picture within 30 feet or so, beyond that it gets a little fuzzy. At night the camera will see around 40 feet away (black and white) and the picture quality is still good. It's a simple product to install and use. Video is recorded on the included SD card and can be played back on the 7" screen or with my computer through the SD card slot. I also like that I can communicate from the monitor to the camera like an intercom! It's handy for telling someone at the front door that I'm on the way.

The SVAT Electronics GX301-011 Digital Wireless DVR Security System (7" LCD) with 2 night vision cameras allows you to record and monitor audio/video for up to 350 minutes with the included 2 GB SD card. Equipped with digital wireless technology, the DVR system has a superior digital frequency (2400-2483.5 MHz) that captures clear video and audio up to a range of 450'. With 18 IR LEDs effective up to 40' (12m), the night vision camera provides clear imagery even in darkness. The LEDs get activated automatically in dark and deactivated during day time to save energy. Made of aluminum, the weather-resistant camera is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.

It also includes a sun shield, which shields the camera from the direct rays of the sun. The DVR supports up to 4 cameras for monitoring multiple locations simultaneously.
