We use this light stand exclusively in our art studios to light setups for our students to draw or paint.  They can put up with a lot of abuse and years of use.

Good Buy

It is light and sturdy enough for not very heavy lighting equipment.
Unfortunately this stand is not compact - folded it is about 4' long. I have another stand - 3 section - it is much convenient to store (about 2.5').
