Great value
I have had this system for a little more than 1yr. It was easy to install and set up and all components are still fully operational and as clear as the day they were installed. They worked perfectly through an extremely warm summer and a record cold Northeast Winter. The only thing I did differently and recommend others may want to consider is to purchase a roll of professional grade direct burial Siamese alarm wire and connectors needed instead of using what's provided. Most issues with CCTV ussualy involve the wire or connections. I easily give this system a 4.75 out of 5. And just bought additional cameras bringing me up from 6 to 8.

Security at a Reasonable Price
So far I am very happy with this product. Hardest part of installation is running the cable but that's because I wanted all cables out of view. Camera mounting was fairly easy as was hookup. Biggest problem was setting email in DVR menu and getting app to work. Called Swann tech and Daniel was patient and very helpful. Walked me through the setup and got everything up and running the way I wanted it. Although a manual is available on line, it would have been nice including one with the kit or at the very least, let it be known that it is available on line. I had to hunt it down. All in all, a great product with sharp color pictures and amazing night vision video. After running through settings for two days, I am a seasoned pro.

Major improvement over DVR8-2600
Having 1080p cameras with 90 degree vision is FAR superior to our previous unit. Using Swannview Plus is very easy to set up, and the improved resolution is very obvious!

It works as advertised
Setting Cameras and running wires was the tough part. Once that was done it worked just fine. The camera angles are wide enough to get the entire yard plus the street with only two cameras. The software is not intuitive but works well enough that I figured it out. The upgraded aluminum camera body is also a nice feature. The best part was the ease with which I set up viewing on my phone after the router was hooked up. The daytime resolution is very good. The night vision is grainy but good enough to see some details to about 50 feet depending on ambient light. You can see farther but the picture degrades significantly. For an inexpensive DIY surveillance project I highly recommend this set up.

Impressive
After a break in at my company, resulting in my checkbook being stolen, I deemed it a top priority to get a video security system. I checked a number of places, and a variety of brands. I definitely wanted high definition, so this unit fulfilled my needs. Setup was fairly straight ahead, and not too complicated if you can follow simple directions. I did need to contact support twice for a couple of basic questions. They were right on it for me, and I was actually able to talk to a rep fairly fast. Impressive! Once setup, I am definitely impressed with the quality of video and relative easy of using the features. At this point, I am very pleased and glad I bought this unit.

Easy to Install
Very happy with the day time quality but the night vision is very poor on these cameras. i spend a lot of time on the phone with tech support and they even send me new cameras and still the night vision is poor. I only have my system six months and already one camera night vision went out. They are replacing that camera as well. For over all its ok for the money but if you buy swann product make sure you get the better cameras because the one's that come with the 4500 dvr are not that good.

Very easy to install
I wanted a product that had excellent quality, product reputation and ease of use and my DVR8-4500 series came calling my name. I had no problems connecting the cable to the DVR. If you don't mind climbing around in your attic this is an EASY TO INSTALL product. I found myself watching the video monitor watching cars drive by. The daytime image quality is OUTSTANDING! The nighttime image quality is ALSO OUTSTANDING! I highly recommend this company and their products.
