A cost effective back up battery

A very cost effective replacement or spare. Does not have the same battery life as the original manufacturer equivalent. The battery lasts longer if you remove the cable. You have to remember to replug in the charge mode. The only real criticism is its length does not allow me to use it in my underwater housing. I bought three.

About SWIT Electronics S-8U62

S-8U62 is a 14.4V, 63Wh Li-ion DV battery with innovative patent rights, compatible with SONY BP-U60/U30, applicable for SONY PMW-EX1 and PMW-EX3. With D-tap 14.4V DC output socket which allows to power camera and light simultaneously. S-8U62 also has a 4-level LED indicator to give you a view of remaining power.

S-8U62 fits into the Sony EX1/EX3 body but is powered by a lead with pole jack connection which fits into the power DC connection on the rear of the camera. The lead is attached to the battery and neatly folds into a recess at the top of the battery.

When power Sony EX1& EX3, user should pull the lead a little out to reach the DC-IN port of the camera. S-8U62 could be charged by SONY BC-U1/SWIT S-3010/SWIT S-3602U charger. The build-in intelligent circuit has multiple protections of abnormal current, voltage and temperature.
