The old app for the swann security camera flood light worked great. This new app is terrible. It takes up to 5 min to get a live view if it even works at all. The flood lights turn on and stay on regardless if they are on in the app settings or not. It keeps going off line constantly then randomly sends alerts like its back online. We purchased this camera along with the pan and tilt thinking it would be under the same app because they are both swann products but no they are on two different apps. This was the worst purchased we made wish we went with a different security camera system.

NO motion detection whatsoever! Lights and siren don’t work unless I do it manually on the app. I even tried triggering it myself before I went to bed one night... nothing not even a recording. Also loses WiFi connection really easily have to keep reconnecting. Only thing that works is the live view but sometimes even that struggles to connect. Basically paid £200 for a fancy camera that doesn’t work and is merely a deterrent!

Shortly after purchase and successful installation on the eve of my 3 story house, I was sent an email informing me that there was the need to migrate to a new app. Now unable to get any customer service to help with technical issues... may need to pay the guy to return with a Big ladder to reset and get me the Bar code information. Might just trash it and get a Nest or Blink...

I have had this item around four months. Hard wired system and relatively straight forward to set up, the feel and build quality feels Good. The sensitivity of the system does not adjust low enough. I have it on the lowest setting and it alerts when a vehicle on the other side of the road drive past taking into consideration that I have a car parked on the drive then a path. There is no way of blocking out areas Only high to low setting. The playbacks is poor seams to be on fast forward not standard speed, and you get notifications that the systems has detected something you click on the notification and it takes you to the live streaming not the notification alert. Swann has just updated its App, but this has seemed to make the system even worse. I’m not normally a person who writes reviews however I feel I should with this. Hopefully Swann will update its firmware so the system works better, however until they do I would not recommend this item.

I've had this Swann floodlight camera in over a year worked fine on old app since I've had to compulsory migrate to new app I've had nothing but trouble with it I paid £200 for it I've sent Swann numerous messages about this and they haven't got back to me I'm having to reset it all the time and eventually it switches off its now turned off I bought 2 one for my back garden that I haven't set up yet but now I've wasted £400 this company are not reliable and I wish I'd never bought them tried factory reset also rebooting also reset and it still won't work totally useless security light and camera I must have sent about 6 emails to them once they've got your money they don't care less completely useless and all that because they changed the app no trouble before.

This camera was working fine until I received an email last week saying it was necessary to do an update as the current platform would cease to function at the end of the month. Ever since the update the unit goes off-line on-line multiple times a day, we need an update to the update.

I really wanted to like this. When it works, it works pretty good. I like the storage of videos for 2 days in the cloud and 7 days on the camera. The app is nice with one exception. The "talk" option is not very useful because of a delay in the transmission (your voice takes a few seconds to come out of the speaker after talking into your phone), though I don't care about this because I don't need that feature and it is a minor issue. The main problem is every day or two the camera goes into a state where it constantly is triggering the light and recording (nothing is moving in front of the camera). It triggers about every 60 seconds and does it for hours straight. My neighbors probably hate me for this bright light flashing every minute in the middle of the night. It does this even on Home mode. I tried adjusting the angle of the motion sensor. I tried adjusting the sensitivity all the way down to the least sensitive setting. Nothing helps. The only way for me to stop it is to power down the light completely (turning it off at the circuit breaker). Kinda defeats the purpose of a security camera when you have to turn it off. As for customer support for the product, it is non-existent. I submitted a support case to them 13 days ago and have not got a single response yet (the case still is in "new" state - no one even looked at it yet). So if you have a problem with the camera, expect to solve it yourself, or return it. I was hoping to get a fix, but it doesn't sound like I will, so because of this, I hope I can return this. I've only had it for a couple months so I'm within the warranty period, and even within my online store's return policy period, but of course I don't have the box anymore and it is has caulk around the edges as per the manual instructions so it may be difficult to remove and return.

I have had trouble getting my 3 floodlight cameras to pair. I finally got two of the to pair and when I tried to get the third one the app disconnected me and I've been unable to connect. The cameras were also detecting motion and recording vudeo even when they were disarmed. I am not sure what happened with my account but I can no longer log in. I'm not sure what is going on but not happy.

This is great. It’s exactly what our backyard needed for light and security, but the hookup was more than I bargained for. I didn’t want to splurge on help, but I needed an electrician. It’s worth it, though.

I was excited to purchase 2 of these floodlight cameras from Best Buy. Wish I wouldn't of waisted my money. First it took 2 days before I could get it to pair with my wifi after much trial and error Tech support was blaming my phone. Now the floodlights stay on all night long can't shut them off which upsets my neighbors. Have to kill the power in order to turn lights off. Will not install 2nd unit due to this issue. I don't like that you cannot control motion zone. I'd return but Best Buy will not take them back as 1 box is opened and the other had been installed. I'm out so much money.

Camera sensitivity can't be adusted for wind so camera goes off every 2 to three minutes. The app will not connect when close to a wireless router but OK at a distance. To delete recrdings has to be done one at a time, you ID then select to delete the delete and verify to delete where arlo you can slect all asked if you want to delete and all gone. I spend at least 5 mutes three times a day deleting recordings. Also can't select a recording time perios such as night only. Camera picture is great main issue is the APP and scheduled recording.

this camera has so low alarm sound in max settings round 75db ,competitors have it for 100-110db. I have bought and installed this product with just a little difficulty My issue is that when I set more to home setting the camera still records me going in and out of my own garden and sends multiple alerts - according to the app in home mode camera is disable yet this seems not to be the case - a bit more choice in settings would make this product excellent - for example you are able to turn camera off but keep light working so you are not constantly bombarded with alerts when you are working in your garden

I recently bought 2 of these. I am mostly happy. Its a great price and much better quality than the competitors. There are also some essential features that put it above the rest. First, you have to have a good home network. That means fast upload speed and a good router. Most of the complaints regarding video quality and lags are due to inadequate home networks and internet speeds. Set up and pairing was fairly easy. I thought the app could have been a little smoother but I quickly got used to it. The LED floodlights are great and very bright. Thankfully they dim which is a main reason I bought this. Motion trigger was on point and it quickly capture the object that triggered the event. Video was good, not great. Night vision is awesome! I almost prefer that to the standard view once the floodlights turn on. Which brings me to a negative. The adaptive contrast sometimes makes a very clear image not so clear. Its still good, but you lose some of the background at night. Another issue is when the floodlight kicks on, it can white wash the face of the person standing in front of it. I had to dim and adjust the angle of the lights to minimize this. My favorite feature is the SD card backup. Most other cameras did not have this. If your wifi goes down or is taken out by a thief, the camera will still record motion events and alert you when back online. Its stupid to have a wifi camera without this because thieves are now just taking down people's wifi. Make sure your router is secure and default passwords are changed. You can easy take videos and capture photos from the live and download them to your phone. No extra subscriptions needed which is a huge plus. There is a 1 second lag between trigger events and recording. Same lag occurs between adjusting features through the app. I consider this to be pretty good. The siren can be activated through the app. It sucks. Its not loud at all. 2 way talk also is not very great. Your voice comes out very low. I have to mute sound, talk, and then unmute for them to hear me. Seems to be an issue with feedback. Additionally, wind.noise is very loud. They should have installed a foam wind muff over the speaker. Overall, I recommend and think it is a good product for the price.

I bought 2 of these cameras. One works fine but the camera is too sensitive and the true detect doesn’t work at all. So the light ends up turning on and recording videos every 2 minutes all night long when it’s snowing outside. The other one simply doesn’t record any video. When I called tech support, they told me camera isn’t working and I need to file a warranty claim, which I did and haven’t heard anything from the company ever since. I will never recommend anyone to buy this camera.

I bough the floodlight end November and the was recording fine. Now in January has stop recording and everything else is working fine. Even in the iPhone app there is NOT an option to check and/or format the internal memory.

Bought this product a few weeks ago to replace an existing floodlight. Installation was simple. Downloaded the app and had everything up and running in minutes! Beautiful clarity and everything worked great! Then it rained. Camera stopped working, light stopped working, even the reset button wouldn’t work. Upon inspection I noticed water in the motion sensor dome. Took it back to the store and was informed that it is “water resistant”, not “water proof” and “should not be exposed to the elements too much”. I guess “outdoor” means something different than I thought. (Pictures on the site show it mounted in much more “exposed” situations than mine.)

We have been trying out this camera floodlight combination for a couple of weeks. We have had some great results so far. We were looking for a new light fixture to put on our porch so when we saw this product we gave it a try. I was a bit intrigued and maybe scared , because of the use of the application to view the camera and the installation. But all my fears were put to rest as soon as it was mounted to our porch wall. It was so easy took us around 20 minutes and the box comes with the mounting bracket and hardware so no need to be looking for what you might need. We were able to use our old electrical wiring. Operating instructions were easy to use and read. The app is easy to set up and use very user friendly. It also connects to our home Wi-Fi so we get a good and clear HD video. The flood lights are very bright and the motion/ heat sensor is very effective and efficient. It also has a great microphone and two way speaker so it enables you to speak to who ever happens to be at the door/ porch at what ever time. This camera also has a siren we haven't used it much so I really don't know how loud or how far the sound might get.We feel we have made a good investment in this camera floodlight combination will definitely be buying another set of these for the back of our house.

We were on the looking for a new porch light so when we saw this floodlight camera combination we were immediately hooked. We have been using it for a couple of weeks and its been very good so far. Set up is very easy and app is very user friendly. The camera comes with mounting bracket and hardware. And you just use your existing electrical wiring. The set up took us 20 mins or so. The motion and heat sensor are very efficient and effective.It also has a two way speakers and microphone. All video is in HD and connects to your WI-Fi. We will buy another camera for the back of the house.

It’s been several weeks that I have had my flood light up. I have to say I like it a lot. The light is very bright and it can be adjusted to many different ways. The siren is loud and has scared away some animals in the back yard. The app is easy to use and connects pretty quickly. I live in NY and took a trip to FL for a week and loved the fact I could check in and see what’s going on at home. The light was very simple to install and took no time at all. It has internal storage which is awesome and records once the sensor is tripped. Some things to point out. The motion sensor can be sensitive at times. Our dryer vent is near by and since it’s cold out the steam can set it off sometimes as well as Heavy snow. There is a bracket that comes with the light that I found really hard to get the mounting bolt through. I had to take the light down and move to the back of my house from the front and the bracket stripped out so I had to make a new one. Not a big deal just something to be noted. It seems like you have one shot to mount it good. All in all it’s a great camera with lights. I would by another :)

I got this Swann Floodlight Security Camera about 3 weeks ago. We have an existing flood light in our drive way but have always wanted a camera attached to it so that we can see who is coming before they get to the front door. The installation was pretty easy because we had a previous floodlight mounted where we put this one. The app is a breeze and it didn't take long to set up all of the features I wanted to have. I still have Android 9 operating software on my phone and I haven't had any issues. It does lag occasionally but for the most part the picture is clear, all of the great features work 95 percent of the time. I have other brand cameras already installed at our home and the Swann works just as good as my other brands.

Very easy to install if you have an existing flood light. The motion detection is awesome when utilized CORRECTLY. It picks up a vehicle moving in my driveway before it even enters the cameras view. Set on the LOW setting first and then go from there. Doesn’t pick up flying insects or such then as some others have said if adjusted correctly. Video quality is great as well. A one second delta between video and actual movement. 3 modes that all do the same thing pretty much. Provided 3 pictures, daytime view, night time view without lights on, and night view with light on. Over all, pretty darn good product, better than paying a monthly fee to view videos like other companies. Certainly an upgrade, indeed.
