The camera will not automatically record when it detects motion (but can record when manually triggered and playback these clips ok; and will send notifications when it detects motion ok)

Received one camera that was dirty with smudge marks and greasy finger prints and without a protective film on the face. Received the other camera that was still registered to a previous user and had to spend my time figuring it out and having to call Tech Support to troubleshoot it and request for it to be reprogrammed/unpaired.

I have three of these outdoor cameras and they all work perfectly. I had no issues setting them up on my WIFI and am able to monitor activity around my house when I am away. I travel internationally alot and have never had any issues. My only complaint is that there isn't a Windows app for my Surface, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.

I bought this about 12 months ago and must say it was a mistake to buy this, comparing to other similar products (EUFY). After the previous issue of this app, I have a new one just happened for the past few weeks. The Swann App is basically useless to me at the moment, I can only view live footage or recording when connecting through WIFI (at home), and when I am using my own mobile data (outside), the app will simply say "device disconnected", what's the point to even have a camera when you cannot use it outdoor?

Seem fine and well built - I have yet to mount these because of the limitations on image rotation in the app. You can only mount these in a vertical orientation as the image cannot be rotated in anything other than upright or 180 degree flip. And the apps are different for different cameras, making it difficult to expand .

I bought a secondhand camera which had not had the firmware updated (I wasn't aware of this) Ive Installed it and attempted to pair it to my wifi etc with no luck - I've spoken to swann support today who say this is unusable now. The previous owner should have migrated it and updated the firmware - because it wasn't updated it, its simply a paperweight. You cannot manually connect or force a firmware update to it. Such a shame considering it probably fully works if you could see the picture.

i have had a Swanns camera for 2 christmas's it was a gift it worked great at 1st but then stopped working took that one back to Menards and replaced with another worked fine, I did have problems with their update version for awhile but the only gripe i have now is i wish i could control how long it records for, what its like 15 seconds that's not enough should have a scale that we could choose from because sometimes you need more time and the picture quality could be clearrer. i tried some other cameras that i bought off fb they record constantly and you have to search for some real activity does not have still photo like Swann but picture qaulity is supurb. now if Swann could fix those 2 things i am good

Absolutely shocking. I brought 3 of these cameras and they are terrible - so much so that I’ve decided to buy 3 cameras of a different brand. The cameras are constantly offline - what’s the point in me having cameras if they don’t work half of the time? Support isn’t very helpful, Live view is terrible, doesent record most of the detections, app is poor keeps freezing / error loading playbacks. Don’t waste your money by buying these, buy another brand!!!!

of all your options from Swann and then for direct competitors to this product I dont suggest this one! For the price go with a better Swann product or for less money go with another company's product you will be happier. In the end I hard wiring the product to get what I wanted out of it, I could never get one of the cameras to stay connected to Wi-Fi. it works but i would have been better of with a list of other Swann products.

I spent almost 8 hours today trying to install This camera. I could not get it to get connect to my network I returned it. I could not get the second one to connect to my network I returned that. Tech-support was absolutely useless it was obvious they were reading from a script. No networking knowledge no technical knowledge at all. Do not waste your money unless you want an overpriced motion light

After receiving the camera and getting installed I am very happy with this camera. It has a good wide view of picture and is working as I would expect it to. Nothing goes past this camera without it capturing it and providing a piece of mind for security

I have been extremely impressed with the Swann Outdoor Security Camera. I have recently set this up on the outside of my apartment door and it has brought a feeling or relief and security to myself and family. It is extremely easy to connect your phone with the camera and the picture is crystal clear. I am also able to see a wide range from the camera, which is really nice. We are in the middle of purchasing a home and once that goes through I will definitely be buying more of the Swann Security Cameras for the numerous entrances of the home.

This camera is amazing. I think the best part is that I can finally see who or what’s in my yard when I can’t personally be there. Another huge benefit to this camera is I can keep an eye on the kids and dogs while they are in the yard if I’m stuck inside working. The video quality is beyond what I was expecting. I can clearly see what’s going on and many details. I was pleased to see the quality of video at night time was also great and really makes me feel more comfortable knowing what is going on around the house. Setting up the camera was so easy that anyone with basic knowledge of signing into wifi can do this on there own. The app itself is just as easy to navigate once everything is connected. The camera came packed excellent for shipping and the instructions were very clear. I would highly recommend everyone having one even if it’s just to deter unwanted guest.

The Swann Wi-Fi 1080p outdoor security camera was very easy to setup and connect to the router. The instructions were easy to follow and the app once downloaded found the camera and was connected in minutes. Work pretty good with great internet connection. If you want to put the cables through the wall, the hole is pretty large (25 mm drill ) Has a good streaming image with sound. The notifications work well on my Iphone and the video quality is great. Overall very pleased and definitely recommend it.

This outdoor security camera works great. The images and visuals are very clear. Easy to see even at night. The install was very easy. We followed the directions and it only took us about 30 minutes. We set it up with our wi-if with no issues at all.

This outdoor security cam is very good. First off very easy to install and hang where you want it. Once you download the app and scan the barcode your camera is added onto your account. The camera itself feels very sturdy and well made. It can take any weather condition that comes its way. you do need a power outlet to power the camera. You can also hook it up to WiFi or hardwire for the best connection. It does record video on your account but if you need more storage you can connect to an outside source with more memory to store more.

I've been looking into getting a outdoor for my front door porch for a while now. This one is great and works just as I needed it. It is very easy to hook up and has an easy mount to install it. It took me about 45 minutes to get the whole thing up and running but it was very easy with the instructions.

I have been using the Swann Outdoor Security Camera to monitor my backyard when I am elsewhere. It enables me to receive alerts when any motion is detected in addition to viewing playback via my mobile phone. Using the live view mode I can utilize the 2-way microphone, record a video along with saving a photo to my camera roll. Mounting the camera was reasonably straightforward. The supplied cord is lengthy and offers a wide range of locations to position the camera. On the other hand, the app requires improvements. I unsuccessfully attempted to connect the camera to the app several times until it eventually worked and frequently features on the app fail to load. The app is functional but needs an update.

Excellent little camera once it is set up and with the new app the remote viewing and adjusting is superb. The only problem I had was the initial setup connection to my android device. A bit of advise .. step 1 - connect to your home 2.4ghz WiFi. step 2 - open app and add device continuing set up until you get to the connect to camera section. step 3 - open your Android device settings and connect directly to the camera hotspot. step 4 - go back into the app and continue set up ( it should display already connected but will ask you to connect regardless). Enjoy.

We love this camera. Great security for us. Motion activated that alerts you, set the motion zones, crystal clear picture and the app is very user friendly and intuitive. The camera is easy to install and you don’t have to worry about batteries dying. Highly recommend.

First off let me say that this camera is RUGGED. The all metal body is solid and heavy, but the base is plastic with minimal angle adjustments which can make it tricky to get the right angle. I can see the base giving out over time after being exposed to the sun, and with the weight of the camera adding stress to it. This kit also comes with a long cable set to allow you to place the camera further out, and the camera and cable set allows you to connect your camera via ethernet if you don't have wireless or would prefer to have a direct wired connection. The app is clunky, and isn't laid out very well. It was tricky to get the camera connected and setup through it. It was trickier to get the firmware updated as well, and took multiple tries; it doesn't tell you if/when the firmware is updating until after its done. I also wasn't able to view the live feed or recorded test clips until I unplugged the camera's power and plugged it back in. The app just isn't very good, nothing like other apps I've used for other cameras. The video quality is pretty good on this, and you can zoom in with moderate quality loss. The app indicates that you should have a microphone, but we weren't able to get that working. It took a while for the video clips to load as well. I'd classify this camera as a niche item, in that it would work good if you just want to setup a camera just to see if there's any activity in the recording area, but if you need it for actual security use or in a critical or priority area, then I'd look at other options.

Some of the cons include: 1) while you can hear what's happening onscreen & offscreen including conversations, noises, sirens; but you cannot talk back like two way talk for automatically turn on siren to scare away robber, 2) most important cameras with a nvr system can save recorded clips in GB storage; this stand alone camera can only save small clips for 7 days and that’s it.

You do need some simple tools to install the camera but it doesn’t take too long. Quality of the frames is great not only during the day but at night as well. Peace of mind when I’m not home is priceless.
