DO NOT PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT
Reasons:
-No notifications (sucks as a nanny cam or security camera)
-Not supported by Swann Security app or HomeSafe View for PC
-OK if you want to watch live video only and maybe have it record
-Terrible customer support. It's been like 6 months since I asked how to pair it to the other software or how to return if it wasn't compatible, I still have not heard a thing back.
-The return process is trash, I now own two of these as paper weights.
-It would be nice if Swann disclosed what swann software will not work with this camera in the marketing material and/or on the box.
-Be aware this only uses the "Always-Safe" app which is marginally ok at best

Seem nice, but Over Paid
Haven't installed them yet but they look nice. Only thing is after purchasing two days later I get a promo code that would have saved me $$. I sent an email asking to get re-embersed but no responce. That's okay I will keep it in mind when buying future security systems.

Awesome camera at great price!
Bought my first PTCAM in Fall of 2018. Has been in use in three locations due to moving. Still working. Wonderful cam with great features, like panning left to right while you are away. Records for couple weeks. Has been very reliable.

Good camers for the price... and Flash can work in 2021...
I've been using this camera for a few years now to monitor a local nonprofit warehouse. I was disappointed when Adobe stopped supporting Flash Player but then I found that you can use the Waterfox browser with NPAPI, the Flash Player 2021 extension, and an old version of Flash Player. Search for details online.

Garbage product
This camera constantly reboots many times throughout the day/night. The alarm feature will detect when a bug flies by the camera providing false notifications.

Love it !!
I love the way I can control the camera movement from my phone !!
I can pan and rotate the camera and see everything !! I also love the amazing picture even in the very limited light that I have the camera mounted under my house !!

This type of camera is defective 40% of the time
Since 2019, we bought 5 of these cameras as different time periods. We find that 2 times we received a defective product, and both times it is the same issue. The defection stems from no audio when using the AlwaysSafe app. Instead we hear a static sound when we turn on the volume on the app. The first defective product we received in Summer 2019. The second product we received March 2021. Despite the 3 times we ordered the product, we got a working camera, a 40% defection rate is unusual and contrary to consumer standards. Buyers avoid this product!!! We expect Swann to address this issue immediately.

Great hardware - App compatibility is less good
Great quality image even in the dark, responsive P and T. Only downside is the proprietary video feed cannot be streamed into anything other than the specified Swann app, creating a plethora of separate viewing apps as even other Swann cameras don’t all feed into just one, AlwaysSafe for these and Swann Security for the outdoor cameras and of course yet another for my older D-Link ones.

Good product
Works great for what I use it for which is checking up on my cat. Love that you can go to certain areas in the room with just a touch if a button instead of scrolling all around the room. The only con is that you cannot connect it to Alexa or Google. Hope they can add an update for that in the near future.

Mixed results
I have a swann security camera system installed at my shop. I'm satisfied with it so I assumed these cameras would be of good quality. I don't know if it's the software(Always Safe) or the cameras themselves but they frequently don't connect when the app is opened which requires a power off/on to get them going again.
Another complaint is that the install procedures are faulty and a little unclear on the sequence of adding cameras. When I attempted to add a second camera the procedure didn't work so I had to deinstall the app and start over.
I would probably look elsewhere of a camera next time

A very good camera in its price range - Swann Cameras PT-Cam
I'm using the swann cameras inside the house because they have to be plugged in which is a little hard to do outside and they have no battery compartment. I have them looking thru my windows and they are working very well as indoor cameras. Their field of view is excellent, I can see a large area. The downside of the cameras is I can't put them outside because I have no way of plugging them in. Being inside cameras I can't turn on the infrared to see better at night because the glass reflects it back, but even without it I can still see fairly well at night. the quality of the video in the daytime is fantastic. The cameras were a little time consuming setting up. Once I got the hang of it things went better. I think they are good cameras for monitoring inside or out thru a window. I would recommend them for security monitoring, picture quality and price. mgp

Don't waste your money.
This camera is absolute crap. The app drops out the wifi doesn't always connect. Just to start. Worst camera I have ever had the misfortune to purchase.

No sub required and no unreasonable demands by app
My impression is that the vast majority of cameras (of this type are trying to con people into paying a monthly subscription. With this camera I get full fuctionallity (apart from email alerts) without having to pay. Swann software used be terrible, but (from about a year ago) it has been excellent. 30 second clips can be remotely downloaded from the camera so there is no need to manually extract the camera card. You could use a 50m cat5 cable, so camera could be positioned anywhere (just not exposed to rain or snow). Email alerts may be possible by enabling stage two verifiation or suchlike (I wouldn't do that). All my efforts to get notifications (when camera starts recording) have failed. Camera footage can be veiwed on a standard desktop PC by installing Android or running Android from a "live CD" (no installation required). There is no requirement for me to enable "location" on my Samsung J5 smartphone (very important). My camera has always been outdoors (covered so it doesn't get directly rained upon). Sound is usually fine but "stacatto interference" is common. The current price seems very competitive as this is a high quality camera.

Easy to use
I reviewed this camera in the single pack and thought it wasn't going to also include the 2 pack since they were ALL bought together. These cameras were easy to use out of the box. They are very user friendly and have great clarity , in terms of showing details in the pictures/ video. I haven't had to use the 'help' section in the APP or regarding the cameras themselves. I would totally buy them again if I needed more of them.

Easy to use
These cameras are so easy to set up right out of the box. Pictures are crystal clear, the cameras are user friendly( intuitive), and the APP is easy to use. I haven't had to use the 'help' section, so I will update that at a later time.

nice compact design and features
after a while going by the instructions I was able to set up the system. I had to start with the ethernet connection because my attempt to scan and link the camera to the system with the code reader wasn't working. picture quality is very good and the link to the cell phone worked fine. i will experiment with the unit to get the most out of it. thx

Fair Price- and can expand later
Works well even with my Satellite it will stay locked up it view remote. A can expand later without putting a large amount of money up front

Great security camera for apartments
I bought this camera to have in my apartment due to a recent break in. The picture quality and video quality are remarkable. Installation was simple and fast with little to no difficulty. I love the feature that you can use your phone to view and control and speak through the camera. Overall highly satisfied with this purchase and would recommend to family and friends.

Really disappointed with the apps
I have had this camera as a baby monitor for some time. I’ve now bought an external cctv camera from Swann and want to use both as a CCTV system, but the new camera runs from a different app, so I’d need to run two different apps simultaneously to be able to use the two together. This is ridiculous given that they are both Swann wireless CCTV cameras. Not impressed.

Great for dogs
I brought this camera to give me peace of mind while out of the house, its great to log in to keep an eye on my dogs as one of them has just had both eyes removed and gets a little worried when we're not home. With the tilt an pan I can look around the room to see were he is and can listen in to make sure there is no barking.

A real dissapointment
Really bummed out on this. Purchased one three months ago, it seemed to be working well so I purchased a second one

Even worse, the original just failed.

Be honest, it's a peice of junk.
Yes, it functions, just well enough that Swann can't be rapped over the knuckles with the 'Fit For Purpose" reprimand. However, the image quality is very poor, the sound quality is very poor, the webconsole has major usability issues, and the USB plug is unreliable.
Using the 'Clear' stream, set at 1080p25, 4096bits, high profile, the image is no where near as clear in identical conditions, compared to HikVision or similar cameras with the same bit rate settings.
The audio is muddy at best, and there are no settings in the web console to adjust the audio at all.
That console is probably aimed for "Only Phone Users" part of the market, so in Firefox, Edge, Chrome, it is not properly functional.
Navigation to 'Advanced Settings', change the expose setting to manual, and the Save button drops down out of view to where is can not be clicked on. Totally useless.
This camera also uses Variable Frame Rate to set the exposure, rather then properly implementing an electronic shutter, so in low light the frame rate drops, and any motion in the frame becomes juddery and useless for identifying anyone or anything in the frame.
Swann needs to do a ground up rebuild of the firmware and the web console.
