Great lens, great price!
So I purchased this lens based off feedback from a fellow internationally known Photographer. I wanted to cut costs, but not quality. With this lens, that is exactly what I did! One of the highlights about this lens, other than the 1.4 aperture (bokeh!), is its ability to lock focus around 7 inches from my subject. Additionally, the build quality and feel is comparable to my Sony 85mm f/1.8. I often get them confused. The only issue I've experienced is when trying to track high school sports. The auto focus locked-up on me. However, I didn't purchase this lens for sports, so this doesn't affect me at all. Overall, it's a great lens with a great price!

New Samyang 35mm 1.4
I’m more than impressed with this lens. It focuses quickly and accurately and sharpness seems to be as good as I could ask for.
On the down side it’s one heavy piece.
To date I’ve only had a few chances to use it so my initial pleasure may be tempered over time with more experience but that seems unlikely

Quality product for the price! I got these lens as opposed to the Zeiss $1500 option and for being only a third of the cost I am happy with the results! There IS the mechanical noise when the lens are focusing but it’s not distracting and doesn’t affect picture quality.

My copy is great optically. I had some issues with the AF jumping around a bit. This was remedied by a firmware update.

I have had the lens for about a week and for the cost it performs quite nicely. I have most of the G Master lenses, the Samyang lens competes well.

Great Lens.
I haven't had this lens very long yet but I'm sure enjoying it! It is tack sharp and really quiet too. I've heard Samyang had loud lenses but this isn't one of them The focus works fast and doesn't hunt. I bought this because I felt the bokeh quality on it surpassed the Sony and was about equal with the Sigma. I'm not disappointed!

Great lens!
Great lens for my a7iii. Very sharp with quick & accurate focus. No issues whatsoever. My only gripe is that the lens that I purchased in 2019 came with firmware 2 and if I want to update it to the current version, I’m forced to invest in a docking station. Otherwise, I’m happy with the purchase. It’s a wonderful lens at a reasonable price.

Wide open it’s awesome!
Read and watched reviews! Your money is safe with lens! I absolutely love it! Focus is as good as the Sony 35 f1.4 and way better than the sigma! Save some money and get this lens it will not disappoint!

A cheaper alternative to the Zeiss 35mm F1.4
especially with the latest FW, the AF is even faster! The ONLY issue is the AF noise, I personally don't shoot video, but this might be an issue for videographers

Amazing, affordable lens!
This is an incredible lens. I used it with my Sony a7rii and it worked flawlessly. Face AND eye AF worked perfectly. Quality is incredible, especially considering the price! If I had to not pick about anything it would be that the focus ring could use the slightest bit of dampering, it was a bit too loose, but in no way did it effects the image or use of the lens!

AMAZING value
Amazing value. Images are nice and sharp in the center wide open, and the sides get better stopping down a bit. AF is fast and accurate and pretty quiet, though not always perfectly. Is it a $1500 lens? It is not, but it's hard to justify a $1500 lens purchase with this on the market!

Great alternative if you love the Zeiss 35mm
I recently purchased this lens and really love it! For half the price , it's a better deal than the Zeiss in my opinion. The quality of the photos are super sharp and the auto-focus is quick (if not as quick as the Zeiss) and gets the job done. There is a little noise from the motor , but not enough for any major issues. Very glad that I purchased this lens and saved myself $800 not buying the Zeiss. Highly recommend it.

Comparable to Sigma Art
Used it on an A7RIII. Wonderfully sharp wide open -- even the edges are good wide open (about as good as the Sigma 35 Art). Bokeh is fine. Haven't given it a CA stress-test, but I haven't seen any fringing. Auto focus is excellent, continuous focus during video is just fast enough to be useable (would prefer it to be faster -- firmware update promises that so we'll see).
Only negative for me: There's no continuous manual focus. In other words, while auto focusing you can't simply adjust focus manually; you must first go into menu and switch to manual focus.

massive decentering but otherwise sharp
This lens does not produce focused areas evenly. Mine has a strange was about having the left part of the image much more bokeh than the right side under numerous tests. I tried contacting SAMYANG and they will not answer phones or email. Very poor service, looks like I'm screwed.

For the price it's a good alternative to the Zeiss 35mm 1.4
Have been using this lens for about two months. For the price it's a great alternative to the Zeiss 35mm 1.4 which is like ($) If you put them head to head the Zeiss is going to edge it out but not by much... Overall pretty happy with this lens. The autofocus is pretty quick.. Bokeh is nice. Continuous autofocus makes a little bit of noise so for video you might want to check if it will work for you. I don't do much video so it's fine for me.
