Very competitive prices, very low compared to B&H. Also I like their rewards program. Shipping is also quick, coming to lens its a great lens for fraction of cost, bokeh is so smooth. Lens station is very handy with firmware updates. f1.4 is really handy in low light situations. Downside is bulky but I think i should expect this for 1.4

I wanted to go with the Sigma 85mm 1.4, but couldn't pass up the deal on this Samyang for less than 1/2 the price. This lens is fantastic. I just want to keep shooting with it. AF is excellent with the A7IV, even shooting at 1.4. Bokeh is beautiful and soft and the lens is sharp. I don't like that the lens hood is flimsy when attached. It does not lock into place like higher end hoods and it will fall off if you've got your camera on your shoulder just walking around. I think this is common with these kinds of hoods so I can't fault Samyang so much. For this price, this is a killer deal. You won't be disappointed with the lens at all.

I love it when people say it's not about the gear and then would stick their nose in the air when I ?settle? on this less expensive 1.4 While I do realize that you need to know your camera, and how to compose and when to apply the "rule of thirds" or not it largely relies on the GEAR people. I have watched videos on professional wildlife photographers, and they casually list off the camera and lenses they used for any given shot... and after I price out the GEAR they are using it adds up to my yearly income... I wonder how they can even keep a straight face when they say "it's not about the GEAR" It is not ?settling? to buy this it?s just being smart. I bring all that up because this lens, although not cheap, squares the playing field up a bit. Most any person can scrape up enough to buy this lens if they choose to. It proves my point from every angle. Sharp as most lenses at 4-5 times the cost, and the color is excellent. Fast focus grab, and that was my only complaint until I got the latest firmware update now its fantastic there as well. If I was a portrait photographer this is the only lens I would have. Period! I look for situations to use it and I find plenty. I also search for other Samyang lenses and will buy more. I think Rokinon is a sister company, and I can say all these things about them as well. See: Rokinon AF14/2.8FE it is amazing as well. Buy this Samyang 85 1.4 and you will not be disappointed in the least. If you are, you got a bad copy and send it back.

Focusing issues. Froze the camera several times. Would not recommend. Warm orange tint to all pictures also.

This is one of the best value lenses in the 85mm range. The f/1.4 aperture creates creamy bokeh and great separation.

This lens was exactly what I was expecting. The images are pretty sure, has decent weight and has a nice sleek look. The only down side I?ve noticed since purchase was it had trouble locating using the af and min focus distance was further than expected. Overall great lens

I love this lens! It is not heavy and is well constructed. The lens hood could be a bit nicer, but it gets the job done. I doubt you will be disappointed with this lens!

(Canon RF version) Beautiful bokeh, snappy AF, and great price. This has become my go-to lens for portraits. I also own Sigma Art lenses, which have equally beautiful bokeh. However, I find the AF a bit snappier on the Samyang, and I don?t need an adapter, to boot.

For the money, this seems to be a great lens. It?s slow to focus in lower lights. So far, I?d have to say it?s a great budget friendly alternative to the Canon 85mm 1.2/f.

Sweet, fast 85 at an affordable price. Images are sharp. Focus works great. My copy came with version 3 software. Color is on the warm side out of the camera, but any color I want in post.

I am stunned at the image quality, build quality and colors rendered from this lens given its lower cost as compared to the Canon RF lens options. The auto-focus is very quick and nimble?I have been using this for CrossFit photography and I am quite pleased. I am sad to hear that Samyang may not be manufacturing other RF mount lenses ?. Which is a shame.

I was really pleasantly surprised with this lens. The auto focus is quick and accurate, and the bokeh is smooth. But that was after updating to the newest firmware. If you get this lens make sure to get the lens mount or an updated version. The V1 firmware did not have very good or accurate auto focus and no IBIS.

Great lens and the 1.4 aperture is bright in low light. Great portrait lens and enjoyed it outdoors shooting panos. Good bokeh. Video in R5 is very satisfying and a joy to shoot.

This lens works like a charm. I have a couple of other RF "L" lenses but didn't want to buy the RF version (too expensive for what I do). I'm really happy with the quality, sharpness is amazing at this price point and overall quality well above my expactions. I also bought the RF lens station but it looks like the lens came with the latest firmware as it works as well as my other RF lenses. The only difference is that the af doesn't cover 100% with this lens. It might be fixed in future updates.

I pre-ordered this lens and when it arrived, I thought I got a lemon. The hunting in AF on my Canon EOS R was awful, especially in low light. Even when using for video in studio lighting. I was on the verge of selling it and putting the money towards a more expensive/better 85mm, but I finally found the lens station in the US and ordered it. I updated it to V3 firmware last week before taking portraits this weekend. WOW... What a difference! Tack Sharp, great bokeh, and quick to lock on. You can see the results in my sample images. I thoroughly enjoyed using the lens this weekend and plan to keep this one in my kit until I can afford the Canon RF 85mm f/1.2L. Heck, I might even buy another one as a backup as it'll still be cheaper!
