Questions & Answers

Shopper : I own this tripper for my Speedotron brownline power pack, but it's not recognizing my Nikon D800 on camera flash (dialed to Commander)...to fire...it's years old...did it likely die...or can it not fire from on camera flash trigger?JOHN K : Just to clarify, the trigger should fire your system when it senses a flash. You have used this set up before and the trigger ran your lighting? One way to test this is to activate the system and ready it for a flash. Take the flash unit off of your camera and fire it in the general direction of the flash trigger. In this mode about three feet from the trigger and you should get activation. If this works, and I assume it will, you have confirmed the trigger is good. Now you have to adjust the camera settings and flash to achieve an activation. Please adviseANDREW R : As far as I know it requires another flash to trigger, I don't believe that "commander" mode would do it.
Shopper : Is there a way to check the capabilities of the slave I already have used for years on my speedotron 400? Do they burn out? I've used it recently with great success but today it wouldn't read the triggers I was using. The lamp itself works so I know that's not the problem and the batteries are fresh on the triggers.DAVID F : some times you have to put your flash back on your camera, have both camera and flash on when you put flash on camera, then put it back on slave, check for condenewity with a volt meter.Happy shooting David
Kevin N : Do you have a wireless trigger system for the speedotron 805? I unable to use Cactus V5 to do the job.ROBERT S : No I used it on a Novatron 240 strobe light kit. I set my on camera flash at 1/128 power. This allowed the on camera flash to act as the command unit and the Speedotron unit as the slave trigger on the the strobe flash unit. It worked about 90% of the time. It depended on how much light was in the room. The darker the room the better it worked, the lighter the room more trouble in getting the Speedotron unit to detonate the Novatron flash. Also had to make sure that the Speedotron slave was positioned (flatside facing camera) so it was facing my camera's flash. Sometimes this was a problem in placing the power supply so did was not in the photo but still in position to work adequately. Hope this is answer is beneficial for you.STERLING S : Your power pack should have some sort of socket in which to plug a remote flash sync cord. If your power pack has a female household type slave socket, the Speedotron Slave Tripper will work. I use the Speedotron Slave Tripper on a Norman P2000 power pack. I trigger the tripper with a shoe mounted IR flash on the camera. Works very well.

Detangle Yourself !

A small but important addition to the NovaTron light system. Enjoy the simplicity and freedom of not being tethered to wires that fire your strobes. Very reasonably priced and a cinch to install.

Simple Performance

Bought this little slave unit to trigger a Speedotron 1203cx. Plug it into the female, H-prong (household) plug on your device and it will trigger your device each time it detects a flash from another flash unit. Simple, efficient, flawless... Perfect!

Worked as expected

The Speedotron Slave work just as I expected. It never missed a beat. My older Nikon Coolpix doesn't have a sync for anything but a Nikon flash. So it wouldn't work with my studio lights. With the Speedotron plugged into the powerpack I was able to use the Nikon with a multiple light setup that I already had and produced the results I was looking for.
