Best starter kit for the money

My little brother who’s in his 20s now is an accomplished musician: equally adept at lead guitar, bass guitar, and vocals. But his passion is drumming, so he was the logical choice to assist me in finding a starter kit for my pre-teen son. I’d been looking at the Tama Imperialstar kit for years, but my brother said to give him a few days and he’d find a better kit for less money leading up to Black Friday. Two days later, he said that he couldn’t find anything close to the Imperialstar.So we ordered it, and he came over to help us set up the kit, tune it, and test it out. During assembly, he was amazed at all the high-end features Tama included in this small, entry-level drum set, as well as all the hardware. It even comes with a throne! The throne can’t support anything heavier than a tissue without the seat sinking, but it works fine for my kids for the time being. We made sure to purchase drumsticks, ear protection, moongels, and a kickpad. We’ll upgrade the heads in a year.
