With nearly 40 years of drum building experience, Tama knows what drummers really want. With this in mind we sought out to design an affordable yet durable kit that retained many high-end features you'll find in our Silverstar, Superstar and Starclassic lines. What we came up with was Imperialstar. Every aspect of the modern drum kit was exhaustively examined, reexamined and then improved before it was accepted as part of the Imperialstar design. Shells:100% poplar 8ply/7.5mm Poplar wood has been used in making drum shell for over 50 years. It offers a full, warm tone combined with medium attack. Tama Precision Bearing Edges A drum's bearing edge is one of the most important components in drum sound. Our advanced edge-cutting process provides extremely precise bearing edges - which allow Tama shells to ring openly and fully and provide a wide range of tune ability, sensitivity and response. Black Nickel Hardware Black Nickel hardware is now available for the Imperialstar line, opening up a broader selection of finishes in this price range. Blacked Out Black, Vintage Red and Sugar White finishes all come standard with Black Nickel hardware, while other available finishes come with Chrome hardware. Wraps-glued to the shell Some drum companies only affix their wraps to the drum shell by taping the finish at "selected contact points". At Tama, all of our wrapped finishes are glued to the shell 100% to eliminate warping, buzzing or lifting. This process allows the shell to resonate fully and consistently. It's more work, but it's worth it. A difference you can see and hear! Original Small Lugs Imperialstar lugs are 10% smaller than the lugs of our previous Swingstar Series for even greater shell resonance. Accu-Tune Bass Drum Hoops A special formulation hi-tech material offers lighter weight and faster, more stable tuning than traditional metal hoops. In addition, since Accu-Tune hoops use tension bolts instead of clawhooks and T-rods, head changes and packing up are a breeze. Spur Brackets Imperialstar spur brackets provide maximum durability and stability. Tom Holder Tama L-Rod and Omnisphere tom holder systems have received acclaim from drummers for over 25 years. These systems offer easy positioning, maximum flexibility, stability and greater sound than standard designs which penetrate the shell interior and can inhibit resonance. Tom Brackets The eye-bolt structure is rock solid, holding the toms in place securely. Iron Cobra 200Pedal & STAGE MASTER Hardware Stands Imperialstar hardware is heavily influenced by our high-end "Roadpro" hardware series. These stands provide stability, ease-of-use and durability at an affordable price. Quick-Set Cymbal Mate (US. PAT.No.7629526) for cymbal stand Tama's new "Quick-Set Cymbal Mate" enables all drummers to set and release their cymbals quickly. While you keep pushing both side of red fastening button, you can move cymbal mate up and down without screwing. Newly Designed Tripod Legs for Stands The New Stage Master double braced leg stands now feature a streamlined design inspired by the STAR and Roadpro series, easing drummer's setup woes by minimizing contact between stands in tight spaces. MEINL HCS Cymbals Imperialstar all-in-one "READY-TO-ROCK" packages not only have everything you need to rock, you'll rock better with HCS genuine brass cymbals from Meinl, the cymbal maker of choice for many of today's new generation drummers.
