I've been looking all over trying to find a insert that will fit into a messenger bag. As a safety precaution when traveling, especially when abroad, I try to not stand out as a tourist and nothing screams tourist like an obvious camera bag. This fits perfectly into my existing messenger bag and provides a bit of protection from the padding. It's perfect. The insert will likely work best for a mirror-less camera, but works well with my small DSLR; not at all if it were connected to a battery grip tho. The insert is large enough to easily hold a camera with a lens attached, two additional lens, and still have room for misc. things, but that will depend greatly on the size of your lenses.

I bought a canvas messenger bag for my photo equipment because it does not look like a camera bag. With the insert it is the perfect camera bag.

I bought this to use with an eBags Kayla Town Square handbag. At most events, I would have my Kayla bag filled with papers and such, as well as my Nikon D200 w/18-70mm zoom, 60mm macro lens, and two SB-800 flash units in a Tamrac bag. Carrying around two bags all day was a chore, so I was looking for a way to have my Kayla bag carry photo gear when needed, which is why I got this Tenba insert. Thus far, the insert has been perfect - its super sturdy and carries all the gear noted above, while still leaving room in the Kayla bag for non-photo things.

There are two main dividers with flaps (so that camera body can rest on it, and two other dividers without flaps to further divide the other compartments. As all the partitions are velcro equipped and the inner lining of the insert is loop type, so the partitions can be rearranged in any way desired. The color is dark grey, not white. The size is pretty big and a good fit inside the heavy duty canvas messenger bag (Jack Bauer type bag) with some space for laptop etc. It is a bit too bulky for smaller messenger bags (esp. the width). The exact dimensions are mentioned by another user in the review section. I carry Nikon D5000 with 18-55, one 55-200, 35mm 1.8, SB400, Rocket blower (small), extra battery, filters, microfiber, etc easily in this insert. I also put the insert inside a backpack and remove one of the side partitions so that I can fit my tripod as well (Benro C-268M8) and stack two lenses in the other compartment!

Then tenba 2.0 insert was very well constructed and very thickly padded, almost too thick. Measurements are not exactly as listed (had to find measurements on another site) as it was not listed at the site i bought from. It's actually 9"H not 8" and 4 1/2"D not 5". The color is a medium gray not the very light color pictured. Four dividers are included, 2 straight and 2 with flaps to insert as needed to customize for use. Will work well in a messenger bag to keep your gear extremely protected from bumps due to the thickness.
