Shopper : Is this device stand alone for recording cd to cd? It doesn't have to be plugged into any other device?ANDREW R : This unit would need to be connected to an audio source (another CD player, tape deck, phonograph, etc.).
Shopper : can you record from home stero to cd recorder?SANDRA C : I bought this for my husband who enjoys taking old tapes and records and making custom CDs from them. He said to tell you that, if routed through a tuner, you could record from any device, including a turn table. He has some serious health issues, an this is a quiet hobby he really enjoys, does not tax the heart! he is pleased with the item and glad to have found one on line with the advent of little I-pod things, we older folks are some what left behind. This item arrived on time, in perfect condition and we would recommend this item and vendor to anyone. The TEAC CDRW890 CD Recorder is a CD player and recorder that allows you to record onto CD-R or CD-RW discs from master discs. This recorder is user-friendly and includes digital and analog inputs on the rear panel, so you can connect units like a CD player or cassette deck to the recorder. Manual adjustment of the recording level is available for your recording and either manually or automatically separate the source audio material into individual tracks. If choosing the manual track sequence, you can pick the sequence of music you want to record.

This quality CD recorder also functions as a programmable CD player, letting you play back music titles and tracks in shuffle mode or by pre-programming a sequence of your choice. The repeat option can be used either for playing back the entire disc or just one section of the disc in a loop.
