I had a old surround sound system that cam with small plastic speakers, The center speaker was really just another speaker that was horizontally mounted. Dialog was always lost in the action. I just bought a new AV Receiver and didn't want to spend alot on a new center speaker...figured how bad could this low cost speakers be, and it had good reviews. It was night and day, I can actually here dialog without turning up the volume when there is a lot of dialog and down when there is a lot of action...It was bigger and heavier than I thought it would be, but then I had small plastic speakers before. Quality built.

This is a great speaker for a mid/small size room. For $25, it easily rivals some of the more known, more expensive speakers. The frequency response is adequate and works very well with my system. I have a pair of Polk TSi200's for the Left and Right, and a pair of Bose Model 21's for the back surrounds. This speaker is mounted from my ceiling, closer to the audience, because it's primary function is for the center channel (speech). The range allows good, clear dialogue. Don't expect any earth shattering bass from this speaker, but again, it does an excellent job for dialogue in movies and provides adequate results for music. I did have to do a lot of tweaking to get it "just right" with my system.
