Let the Tiffen 3x3" 81A Light Balancing Filter transform your photography by reducing excess blue tones that can affect daylight film, especially when capturing sky or sea scenes or engaging in high altitude photography. This professional-grade filter is particularly effective if your flash exposures appear too 'cool', providing a subtle warming effect to balance out your images.
As the mildest member of the renowned 81 series, the 81A filter has a filter factor of 1.4, requiring an additional 1/2 f-stop of light. It's designed to interact harmoniously with all light sources, whether natural or artificial, to optimize color rendition on film.
This high-quality, multi-coated filter is expertly crafted to 'warm', 'cool', and correct for the myriad lighting variations you may encounter in your photographic journey. The 'filter factor' is a measure of the light it absorbs, and cameras with internal metering will automatically adjust the exposure, making it a versatile tool for photographers of all levels.
Remember, modern strobes (flash) approximate midday sun, so any warming or cooling filtration with flash should be based on 'daylight'. The 81 series warming filters are available in several strengths and sizes, with the 81A being the gentlest. Other filters in the 81 series include the 81B, 81C, and 81EF, each offering varying degrees of warming effects.
For additional color correction, consider the 82 series for a cooling effect, the 80 series for using daylight film in tungsten lighting, the 85 series for using tungsten film in daylight, and the FL-D and FL-B for using daylight and tungsten film in fluorescent lighting, respectively.
Invest in the Tiffen 3x3" 81A Light Balancing Filter to enhance the color, tone, and overall quality of your images, and experience the difference a professional-grade filter can make.
