Great Filter

Sunrise via Tiffen

I take quite a few sunrise and sunset pictures and really needed a good quality filter for my Nikon D 3100. I have several other filters but none compare to this one. Highly recommend.

Tiffen Color Grauated Sunrise/set filter

This Tiffen filter can save you some time in photoshop trying to enhance the color in a not so dramatic sunrise/set. For the modest price I think it's worth it!

Not very subtle

I bought it for a trip to Caribbean and shooting landscapes. Because it is threaded, it is convenient, sturdy, and fits under a lens hood. But for my taste, this filter adds too much color to the image. Also transition from clear to color is almost immediate. I’m going back to the drop-in filters so I can better control color transition.

Tiffen Graduated Sunrise filter is half color, graduating to half clear without a distinctive harsh line. It adds dramatic sunrise to lackluster mornings without effecting the remainder of the exposure.
