he Tiffen Image Maker Contrast Control Filter Kit is designed to control the lighting ratios when shooting either traditional film or video. It is Ideal for controlling the contrast in bright sunlit exteriors, while capturing lost detail in the shadow areas.

The soft Contrast Filter allows for a reduction in contrast and like the Low Contrast filter, will cause slight amounts of flaring or halation. With a neutral gray appearance, it drops the exposure yet although it may seem to require it, Tiffen does not recommend exposure compensation as this will negate the effect of the filter

The Ultra Contrast filter produces no flare or halation even shooting directly into the sun, while it reduces contrast by lightening shadows without overexposing highlights or by darkening highlights without further darkening the shadows. This eliminates washed-out, overly bright highlights, or shadows without detail.

The Low Contrast Filter is designed for people who shoot video but want to achieve more of a film look to their photography. The effect grows with the amount of light, and as a usefull effect (great with a candle!) this filter creates a very slight flare or halation around hot spots and individual light sources
