The Tiffen 4 x 5.65" Pro-Mist 2 Filter (Black) helps to reduce the value of the highlights while slightly lowering the overall contrast. This filter is especially useful for smoothing out and softening facial wrinkles and other blemishes. While designed for use with movies, this filter can also be used for fashion and beauty applications. Unlike a traditional diffusion or soft focus filter, Pro-Mist filters provide little loss of detail across the image. The 2 density provides a moderate amount of contrast and highlight reduction and allows for a soft, pastel-like quality of light. The Tiffen filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass and grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch.

I really love the extra glow it gives to lighting. It?s really fun to use especially when you find out how to use it correctly. 100% recommend trying it out if your trying to get that glow in your pictures. I?m in love with this and plan to buy more in the future.

Great filter for creating a nice soft look. I think the 1/2 is the best density to give a good balance of softness with out making the image looking like it's out of focus.

Great filter

Started using this filter for night photography. The halation is lovely and makes for interesting effects. May need to purchase another for a different lens. Highly recommend for video and photo.

I'm quite new to the world of special effects filters. I was looking for filters that could add a dreamy effect (typically something that I just get by lowering the clarity in post) and this filter works perfectly. It's soft enough to get the effect across without losing too much detail. Would definitely recommend the 1 filter if you're going for the dream effect but don't want to go overboard.

Perfect for a soft glow

This filter did exactly what I wanted it to do.  It gave s very soft focus without blurring the image completely, which is something you can't achieve from home made soft focus techniques.  It makes an amateur photographer look like a pro!
