For the price, it is a very good deal. It would be nice to have a little more grip on the rotation ring and a dot painted on there for reference as I use it on rangefinder cameras. Overall a very neutral color balance. Probably not a better filter deal out there for around $20

Bought this for a photoshoot of a car to help cut down on window glare. The build is nice however the polarizing effect leaves much to be desired. Though it did an okay job at cutting through the glare the effect was pretty uneven and seemed spotty. The spots didn't come through in my images as far as I can tell but still won't be risking using it again on a paid shoot. Being able to rotate the filter to have the effect or not is really useful but if you can, I'd suggest a higher quality filter as this one was a let down

The purchase was easy. The phone sales person was helpful, calm, thorough. The filter came when it was supposed to. It was exactly what I thought it was going to be. All was good.

I have very specific needs photographing artwork. When crossing this filter with another polarizer, it only partially shades, meaning, it is only partially polarizing. It might be fine for others, and for cutting less light, but I'm going to need the pricey one.

I use it on rainy days to take the reflection off of leaves. It also makes white clouds more contrasty in a blue sky. The only thing I don't like about it is that you have to turn it to get the polarization and I also have to turn the same area to focus manually when I need to and sometimes I turn the wrong thing.

I like to use this for shooting landscapes since it cuts through the haze in the sky and gives me bluer blues. Really makes the clouds pop.

Very inefficient. Doesn't block much polarized light when compared to several other brands. Loose construction isn't all that bad.

Everything but the mount is fine. I get a feeling that the glass may come out of its frame anytime. It has such a bad mount, that sometimes I cannot use the thread in front of it without trying to push the glass in.

Be ready to transform your photography with the 46mm Linear Polarizer Glass Filter, a must-have tool for both amateur and professional photographers. This high-quality filter serves multiple creative purposes, enhancing your images with a touch of finesse and control.
The linear polarizer filter works wonders by evenly increasing color saturation across the spectrum, except for black and white. This results in deep, richly scenic images that pop with vibrancy. Whether you're capturing the lush greens of a forest or the brilliant blues of the ocean, the filter ensures that every color is intensified to its fullest potential.
Moreover, the filter adds contrast to your photos, particularly beneficial when photographing dramatic skies and aerial views. By deepening the intensity of blue skies, it creates a striking backdrop for your subjects, making your images stand out with a professional quality.
One of the most valued features of the 46mm Linear Polarizer Glass Filter is its ability to eliminate the whitish glare that often reflects off surfaces such as glass and water. This not only improves the clarity of your images but also allows for the true colors and textures beneath these reflective surfaces to shine through without distraction.
The filter's two-part lens construction is designed for precision and versatility. It rotates, enabling you to select the desired degree of saturation, contrast, and glare reduction. This level of control is ideal for photographers who want to adapt to varying lighting conditions and creative demands.
Tiffen, a trusted name in photographic filters, offers this linear polarizer in both standard and warm versions. The warm polarizer incorporates Tiffen's exclusive 812 warming filter, which imparts a cozy, muted ambiance to portraits and landscapes while maintaining rich coloration. This subtle warming effect can add a nostalgic or romantic quality to your images, setting them apart from the ordinary.
Polarizers are available in two main types: Circular and Linear. Circular polarizers are compatible with all types of cameras and are essential for beam-splitting metering systems commonly found in auto-focus SLRs and most current TTL SLRs. Linear polarizers, like this 46mm filter, are designed for older metering systems that do not require circular polarization.
Tiffen's range of polarizers includes the following variations: Standard Linear, Standard Circular, Warm Circular (which combines the polarizer with the 812 warming filter), and Wide Angle Circular (a thinner filter designed to prevent vignetting at the edges from larger wide-angle lenses).
In summary, the 46mm Linear Polarizer Glass Filter by Tiffen is an invaluable accessory that can significantly enhance the quality of your photographs. Its ability to saturate colors, add contrast, and reduce glare makes it an essential component of any photographer's kit.
