Let the 49mm 81B Warming Glass Filter transform your photography by reducing excess blue tones that often affect daylight film, particularly when capturing sky or sea scenes or engaging in high altitude photography. This filter is also an effective solution if your flash exposures appear too 'cool'. The 'B' in 81B signifies a slightly warmer effect than 'A', but maintains the same filter factor of 1.4. This requires an additional 1/2 f-stop of light, ensuring optimal exposure for your shots. Every light source, whether natural or artificial, has unique characteristics that influence color rendition on film. Our 49mm 81B Warming Glass Filter is a color correcting filter, specifically designed to 'warm', 'cool', and correct for the numerous variations of lighting you may encounter during your photography journey. All filters, including this one, have a 'filter factor', a measurement of the light they absorb. Cameras with internal metering (through the lens) will automatically adjust the exposure, making your job easier. For those using external or handheld meters, you must account for this factor. It's important to note that modern strobes (flash) mimic midday sun, so any warming or cooling filtration with flash should be based on 'daylight'. The 81 series warming filters, including our 49mm 81B Warming Glass Filter, come in several strengths and are available in most sizes. Other filters in the 81 series include: 81A for a milder effect, 81C for twice the warming effect of 81B, and 81EF for an extremely strong warming effect. For additional color correction, consider the 82 series for a cooling effect, the 80 series for using daylight film in tungsten lighting, the 85 series for using tungsten film in daylight, FL-D for using daylight film in fluorescent lighting, and FL-W for using tungsten film with fluorescent lighting.

I have been looking for a good warming filter for some time now. To my surprise a lot of places no longer carry them... However, I knew Adorama would come through!
