The Red #25 filter is designed to add dramatic contrast to your images, particularly in sky and aerial photography. It deepens the tones, creating a visually striking impact in your black and white photos.
The Yellow #6 filter offers a softer, more natural contrast. It broadens the tonal effect, subtly enhancing the depth and detail in your images without overpowering the original aesthetics. It's ideal for photographers seeking a gentle touch in their black and white photography.
The Green #13 filter is designed to lighten foliage in your scenic shots, highlighting the intricate details that might otherwise be lost in black and white photography. Moreover, it also works wonders in portrait photography, rendering more pleasing and natural skin tones.
The Tiffen Black & White Filter Kit includes the Red #25, Yellow #6, and Green #13 filters. It also comes with a convenient pouch for easy storage and transportation of the filters.

This is a good basic filter kit for shooting black and white film photography. It would be excellent if it came with an orange (deep yellow #15) and included hard cases for the filters in addition to the mesh pockets. As it stands, this kit is enough to cover your bases for 95% of what you need for day-to-day b&w shooting. Make sure you get a kit to fit the largest lens you have and buy step down rings for the rest of your lenses.

These are fun if you want to achieve old school black and white photo effects in camera (think darkening skies or creating dramatic flower portraits).
