Bring warmth and balance to your photography with the 6.6 x 6.6" 81B Light Balancing Filter from Tiffen. This high-quality, durable filter is designed to reduce excess blue tones that can affect daylight film, particularly when capturing sky or sea scenes or engaging in high-altitude photography.
The 81B filter is slightly warmer than its 'A' counterpart, yet maintains the same filter factor of 1.4. This requires an additional 1/2 f-stop of light, making it an effective tool for photographers whose flash exposures may appear too 'cool'.
Every light source, whether natural or artificial, impacts color rendition on film. This versatile filter is designed to 'warm', 'cool', and correct for the various lighting conditions you may encounter. It's important to note that all filters possess a 'filter factor', which measures the light they absorb. Cameras with internal metering will automatically adjust the exposure, but for external or handheld meters, you must account for this factor.
The 81B filter is part of the renowned 81 series of warming filters from Tiffen, known for their reliable performance. The series includes several strengths and sizes, with the 81B offering a warming effect that's twice as strong as the 81A and less intense than the 81C and 81EF.
For photographers seeking to balance color in different lighting conditions, Tiffen also offers the 82 series for a cooling effect, the 80 series for using daylight film in tungsten lighting, the 85 series for using tungsten film in daylight, and the FL-D and FL-W for using daylight and tungsten film in fluorescent lighting, respectively.
Incorporate the 6.6 x 6.6" 81B Light Balancing Filter into your photography toolkit to enhance your images with the perfect balance of warmth and light.
