The one downside of ultra-wide angle lenses is the size, and resulant cost, of filters. The Tiffen Thin Glass 77mm is a great deal on basic protection for my Tokina 11-16mm zoom.

You need to get a slip on cap to protect it & then your good.

I would give this filter 4 stars because of a absence of filter tread. Any way ,today I have discovered that My Dot Line 77mm WHITE BALANCE LENSCAP purchased recently is a perfect cover for the occasion. I had no idea that it was 2 pieces white balance cap and the top part is very tight fit for this gem. No vignetting on my Tokina 11-16 2.8.Its a thin filter of course. I was considering returning it before that. A keeper with this price.I would like to include some pictures of using the filter, but they are only to available for review and I'm just trying to help a good product. In this combination is a winner.

Filter fits fine, is super thin for wide-angles, but has an inside seal that keeps you from putting on a lens cap. If you don't need a lens cap, this is for you, but I always like having one on so it kinda bugs me.

The Sigma lens cap does not fit on the filter. This is a major fault.

With thin wide angle filter installed you can't put the lens cap on to put the glass back in your bag. You have to either remove the filter or go without the cap. Kind of a pain in the butt, but it's such a great lens for the money, I really don't care so much about the cap.

Good filter but I was surprised when I try to close lens (Canon EF 24-70 1/2.8L USM) whit front lens cap. Filter is too thin for cap. But lens hood is realy big and protect front filter from fingerprints.

If you're a photographer seeking to enhance your outdoor shots, consider the 67mm Skylight Wide Angle Thin Glass Filter. This high-quality filter offers more than just Ultra Violet protection. It absorbs nearly half of UV light, similar to standard UV filters, but with an added advantage - a slight pink tint. This tint is specifically designed to add warmth to your images when shooting in open shade or overcast conditions, effectively reducing excess blue and providing superior color rendition.
The 67mm Skylight Wide Angle Thin Glass Filter is the gentlest of warming filters, absorbing only 1/10th of an f-stop of light, meaning you won't need to adjust your exposure compensation. This versatile filter is ideal for wide angle and slim/wide angle lenses, designed to reduce light entry for a wider aperture and faster shutter speed, resulting in brighter, more detailed images.
Manufactured by the reputable brand Tiffen, known for its durable and effective photography equipment, this filter is available in most sizes. It comes in standard, multi-coated for extra flare protection, and thin glass wide angle mount for larger wide angle lenses.
Take note, Tiffen's wide-angle filters are designed with low profile rings to prevent vignetting, a common issue when using standard filters on ultra wide angle lenses. However, they do not have a front thread and cannot accept standard snap-on lens caps. This affordable filter is a valuable addition to any photographer's toolkit, especially those who frequently shoot outdoors in bright sunlight conditions.
