The main function of this filter is to reduce the amount of light entering the camera lens without changing the color of the scene. It allows for a wider aperture or slower shutter speed, resulting in a brighter image with a shallower depth of field.
The filter features a robust titanium coating on both sides, which makes it highly resistant to scratches and allows for easy, worry-free cleaning.
Tiffen's ColorCore technology is a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between two pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings. This ensures superior clarity and longevity of the filter.
The 67mm Digital HT 4x (0.6) Neutral Density Glass Filter is versatile and can be used in various types of photography. It's particularly effective in bright light conditions and is great for achieving a blurred background effect in portraits or creating smooth water effects in landscape photography.
High Transmission in the context of this filter refers to its ability to allow a high percentage of light to pass through it. This results in brighter, clearer images, especially in low-light conditions.
Review Summary

Well constructed. Screws on and off easily with no sign of binding. I know that there have been quality control issues in on some specific items, but the one I received is excellent. While it doesn't really matter, I really like the included cases in this line. Been using it in the subzero temps the last week and results have been good.

I have a lot of Tiffen filters, and I like them all. Tiffen filters run the gamut from cheapo to high quality. This lens is more of the latter.

Tiffen filters are the best! The quality is excellent and fit and finish is too. I use only tiffen ND and CPL filters, I haven't ever had a problem with them.

Never tried Tiffen's Digital HT filters before, but I really love the quality of the glass of this filter, esp. for waterfall shots in any bright daylight situation so I can use slower 2"-4" shutter speed to get the buttery soft look of moving bodies of water without sacrificing image quality.

I own a Sony, an Hoya and this Tiffen ND filter. Maybe it's me but I have the impression this filter leaves a blue tint in my pictures that neither the Sony nor the Hoya produce.

This 4X neutral density filter is somewhat weak to use capturing fogs or waterfalls on the bright day. So I recommend you to use it with polarize filter or one more netural density filters which you can make really slow shutter speed up to 3 to 8 stops more... I got 16X when I bought 4X from Adorama which seems good combination I guess!
