Does the job

The one downside of ultra-wide angle lenses is the size, and resulant cost, of filters. The Tiffen Thin Glass 77mm is a great deal on basic protection for my Tokina 11-16mm zoom.

Very gooda

I would give this filter 4 stars because of a absence of filter tread. Any way ,today I have discovered that My Dot Line 77mm WHITE BALANCE LENSCAP purchased recently is a perfect cover for the occasion. I had no idea that it was 2 pieces white balance cap and the top part is very tight fit for this gem. No vignetting on my Tokina 11-16 2.8.Its a thin filter of course. I was considering returning it before that. A keeper with this price.I would like to include some pictures of using the filter,but they are only to available for review and I'm just trying to help a good product.In this combination is a winner.

Can't use a lens cap.

Filter fits fine, is super thin for wide-angles, but has an inside seal that keeps you from putting on a lens cap. If you don't need a lens cap, this is for you, but I always like having one on so it kinda bugs me.

Good quality, but lens cap does not fit

The Sigma lens cap does not fit on the filter. This is a major fault.

Great wide angle

With thin wide angle filter installed you can't put the lens cap on to put the glass back in your bag. You have to either remove the filter or go without the cap. Kind of a pain in the butt, but it's such a great lens for the money, I really don't care so much about the cap.

surprise with front lens cap

Good filter but I was surprised when I try to close lens (Canon EF 24-70 1/2.8L USM) whit front lens cap. Filter is too thin for cap. But lens hood is realy big and protect front filter from fingerprints.

Great filter

I use atto protect my lens which is does. I also findrthat my pictures are as clear as when I do not use the filter.

Skylight filters are Ultra Violet protection plus. Like Ultra Violet (UV) filters, they absorb almost half of UV light, but they also have a very slight pink tint.

When shooting outdoors in open shade or on overcast days, the 'Sky' filter adds warmth and reduces excess blue giving better color rendition.

It is the mildest of warming filters and absorbs only 1/10th of an f-stop of light, therefore requiring no exposure compensation.

Tiffen skylight filters are available in most sizes in standard, mutli-coated for extra flare protection, and thin glass wide angle mount for larger wide angle lenses.

Note! Tiffen wide-angle filters have low profile rings to prevent vignetting which can occur when using standard filters on ultra wide angle lenses. They do not have a front thread, and can not accept standard snap on lens caps.
