This glass filter does an excellent job of removing glare from water and other highly reflective surfaces being photographed.  In addition, it deeply enhances the colors in the sky of my landscape photos.

First Impression of the Tiffen Digital HT Circular Polarizing Glass Filter

Best variable polarizer

My copy is very precision when rotated, not sloppy. No noticeable optical distortion. Did not affect autofocus when my Panasonic Leica 100-400mm lens was zoomed out to 400mm which was a problem with other circ-pol filters in the past. Threads were smooth when screwing on and off the lens. I don't know if other copies are as good as mine but I would assume so. I have some Tiffen variable neutral density filters that are good quality. I don't see a lot of risk with buying Tiffen filters. I am happy with mine.

I recommend this filter. Worth the money.

I enjoy the easy rotation for finding the perfect amount of light in most conditions.

Perfect filter for handling glare!

Hoya HD polarization filters hold up lots  better and are less optically dense for aslightly more money.

I think it works wery well. The colours are great.

Helps darken blue skies and reduces reflections in glass and water. Scratch resistant too.

I forgot to mention that it can reduce the amount of light entering the camera, allowing for longer exposures.

Great necessary accessory.

I had to take a small mill file to the threads to smooth them out a bit as the titanium coating had not been cleaned up and was cutting my fingers! For the price that should have been done by Tiffen and not by me. The glass is very good and I have no other problems, the new coatings have made this filter a full second faster in most usages than my old 1960 era Vivitar filter and of course it works with the auto-focus digital camera where the old filter could fool the auto-focus.

OK but needs some work

I bought one of these filters as I needed one in a hurry. All I can say is I should have waited. In less than a week I found a hairline crack in the filter. The filter has never been dropped, bumped, over tightened. All I can say is I am disapointed.

Disapointed

The polarizing affects of this filter allow a wide range of adjustment to my photographs. I recomend Tiffen polarizers for everyone.
