The Glimmerglass is the first series of filters with a "psychological edge". Tiffen has developed the Glimmerglass series of filters for "making people look their best." A new type of diffusion filter, the Glimmerglass subtly softens fine details in a unique manner, while adding a mild glow to highlights. As contrast is also reduced, the look is one of enhanced beauty. A first in this field is the fact that the filter is both effective to look at as well as to look through. The filter has a distinct silver sparkle that has been found to be doubly useful. When production starts and people see the glittering on the front of the lens, they become more confident in the knowledge that the filter is working for them and they may also turn in a better performance.

Tiffen filters are always good quality and this is no exception. The effect is noticeable but not to the point where it makes the image look bad. I will definitely use this for a certain type of shot and not an every shot scenario.

Glimmerglass 3

Subtle but pleasant effect, softens things slightly and gives a small amount of bloom without impacting overall contrast. 

Somewhat absurdly the description says that the sparkling filter will instill confidence in your subjects while shooting portraits but my friend just thought my lens was dirty, so take that claim with a grain of salt.

I love the way it makes highlights look. On my daily camera I don't need clinical sharpness. A little softness and halation gives the photos a bit more character for me.

Using it on an X100V and I'm really liking the results I'm getting.

I really appreciate this lens filter. Images with heavy highlights or practical lighting looks much more pleasing and less digital. Highly recommend if you're going for a more filmic look.
