Review Summary

Well constructed. Screws on and off easily with no sign of binding. I know that there have been quality control issues in on some specific items, but the one I received is excellent. While it doesn't really matter, I really like the included cases in this line. Been using it in the subzero temps the last week and results have been good.

I have a lot of Tiffen filters, and I like them all. Tiffen filters run the gamut from cheapo to high quality. This lens is more of the latter.

Tiffen filters are the best! The quality is excellent and fit and finish is too. I use only tiffen ND and CPL filters, I haven't ever had a problem with them.

Never tried Tiffen's Digital HT filters before, but I really love the quality of the glass of this filter, esp. for waterfall shots in any bright daylight situation so I can use slower 2"-4" shutter speed to get the buttery soft look of moving bodies of water without sacrificing image quality.

I own a Sony, an Hoya and this Tiffen ND filter. Maybe it's me but I have the impression this filter leaves a blue tint in my pictures that neither the Sony nor the Hoya produce.

This 4X neutral density filter is somewhat weak to use capturing fogs or waterfalls on the bright day. So I recommend you to use it with polarize filter or one more netural density filters which you can make really slow shutter speed up to 3 to 8 stops more... I got 16X when I bought 4X from Adorama which seems good combination I guess!

I have a lot of Tiffen filters, and I like them all. Tiffen filters run the gamut from cheapo to high quality. This lens is more of the latter.
Become a master of light manipulation with the 77mm Digital HT 16x (1.2) Neutral Density Glass Filter, designed to expertly control the amount of light that passes through your camera lens. This high-quality, durable filter offers a light transmission of 6.25%, or a filter factor of 16x, providing you with the ability to capture stunning images even in challenging lighting conditions.
Crafted by Tiffen, a reputable brand renowned for its superior photography filters, this neutral density filter evenly reduces light transmission without affecting the color balance. It's an ideal tool for photographers looking to reduce bright light in large aperture situations when a narrow depth of field is needed.
This versatile filter allows for slower shutter speeds, perfect for blurring or showcasing movement in your shots. It also enables you to balance exposure to highlight a key subject, and use higher speed films in bright light. With this reliable filter, you can achieve proper exposure at a wider lens opening for reduced depth-of-field, helping you to highlight a key subject by making the foreground and/or background out of focus.
The 77mm Digital HT 16x (1.2) Neutral Density Glass Filter is made from the purest optical quality glass and features Tiffen's award-winning ColorCore technology. This breakthrough in multi-coating technology offers a double-sided coated filter with the strength of titanium, unmatched scratch-resistant durability, and worry-free cleaning.
Unlike other coated filters on the market, the Digital HT filters feature a titanium coating that makes them extremely durable and protects against damage and mark up. These high transmission filters also feature a low profile titanium finish ring and anti-reflective black lock ring, with a distinctive titanium finish that sets these filters apart from the rest.
Experience the difference with the 77mm Digital HT 16x (1.2) Neutral Density Glass Filter, a testament to Tiffen's commitment to quality and innovation in photography equipment.
