for the price, this is a great buy. I bought this tripod because it has the 75mm ball mount, so if in the future I buy a Manfrotto head (like the 502 or 504) to support my rig, I'll be able to put it on these sticks. The head does get a little stuck at times, so before I do a really slow panning shot, I'll pan the head back and forth a couple times to loosen it up. The head also has a vertical lock down function which is really good for completely stationary shots. My only real let down on this purchase was that I was expecting the grounder pieces on the bottom of each stick, ie. the piece that when you spin it a stick comes out to keep it from moving when placed on grass. Instead, all the legs have on the bottom are a rubber cover. ps. if you plan on putting anything heavier than a basic dslr on it, you will need a real fluid head.
