I just received and began using the Magnum XG Tripod. It is much sturdier and heavier than the other tripods I have had. Because I hike with my camera to photograph in remote locations, I have used light weight tripods in the past with mixed results. The problem with light weight tripods I have used is they have lacked the support in lower light shots. Even after only two outings, I am learning to carry the extra weight with greater ease.

I recommend this tripod for any photographer looking for a sturdy tripod that doesn't cost a fortune. No complaints from me.

I have no idea. I plan to go on an extensive cross country trip this Fall and I wanted to have a tripod available in NM when I got there-about 70% of the way in the trip. This tripod looked good. Most things I have gotten from Adorama have been accurately described and it was certainly worth the price to have it available without having to carry it about 6000 miles.

I break a tripod about once every 18 months. This time, I stepped up a level for something a bit more dependable. I'm very pleased with this D&S Magnum.

Bought this for multiple uses including Video Calibration (hold meters), digial camera, and laser level. The thing I don't like the most is the lack of crank to adjust the center post. It looks like the crank is not something found on higher end tripods but I really like having one when using a level. This unit is TALL and fairly heavy. The quick diconnect does not slide in to the tripod very smoothly. That said, for the price, this is a very well equipted tripod and I am happy with the purchas.

This is my second tripod and in comparison to my first, it makes my first tripod look like a toy. I primarily use it for night shoots and studio work. I like this product because it was worth every penny. Also, the quick release feature, tight locks and stability. I was happy for the great customer service from Efrain in the lighting area. Thank you Adorama!!

I'm well over 6 feet tall and this tripod takes the bending and stooping out of the edquation for most shots. That alone improves my image-capture experience substantailly, but the good quality and low price are icing on the cake.

I needed a tripod which would allow me to take photos without bending way over. I'm 6'2", and this one is perfect. It's solid and very stable. The 3 bubble levels assure perfect alignment. I wanted to add a ballhead, but can't justify that as the 3 levers allow panning and rotation. It works great, but is slightly heavy. That's not a problem for me as I don't carry it everywhere. Very good investment. I definitely got my money's worth. This is a good unit for enthusiasts who want stability and ease of use at a decent price. I have the Nikon N80, D80, D90, and D7000. The quick-release pan head lets me reposition my cameras quickly and securely. I can't imagine ever needing another tripod.

I prefer not to use flash - instead bring out the tripod for use with slow shutter speeds.

This is the only tripod I could find that had a max height of 72" without spending a million bucks. I am 6'1" and I need the tripod height. The tripod is stable, with good maximum capacity, and it is a very good value for the price. The 10 year warranty and the history of the company made a big positive difference in my decision.

This tripod is exactly what you need to provide stability for your shots. If you are using a DSLR camera this device gives you a range of motion so you dont have to bend over to shoot.

I purchased this tri-pod specifically for Macro use, however it has turned out to be an excellent product for all that I do...

Great tripod for the advanced amateur or as a backup for the professional.
