This shift makes the use of high-quality filters, like the Tiffen Full Spectrum IRND, crucial for achieving desired results. This durable and reliable filter is designed to control light exposure and depth of field in bright situations, where digital imaging devices can easily be overexposed. Traditional ND filters, made with dyes, have been used to control light but often pass small amounts of far red to near infra-red light, affecting the quality and color of the image. The Tiffen Full Spectrum IRND 0.9 3-Stop Filter, however, is designed to combat this issue. It extends light transmission characteristics into the infrared region of the spectrum, providing a true neutral density that corrects color shifts and maintains color balance, even when using heavier densities. This versatile filter is particularly effective for cinematographers using the Sony F and EX Series, ARRI Alexa, or Panavision Genesis to control far red and near infra-red. It can also be used in conjunction with the Tiffen Clear Hot Mirror for Digital Motion Picture Cameras using a CMOS chip sensor, which does not use an internal IR Blocking filter, such as the RED ONE and SI2K. Manufactured using Tiffen's proprietary lamination process, this filter captures each effect between two pieces of glass, ensuring perfect parallelism and worry-free handling for the cinematographer. Made with Water White glass, the Tiffen Full Spectrum IRND 0.9 3-Stop Filter is available in a variety of sizes, making it a versatile tool for any photographer's kit.
