Roomy for 17" HP

Had a very difficult time locating this sized carrier for my new 17" laptop. Has 1/2" padded foam interior for protection but in doing so there is not room for a separate sleeve. There is a attached draw-stringed net bag for those wanting to take a mouse with you but it dangles off the side of the bag and looks stupid. My bag in black is cool, and has a push buttom type latch for the flap top. Had it 2 weeks and nothing has fell apart. Shipped in 7 days. Was among the most expensive bags to choose from but at 17" these sizes are difficult to find.

too light construction for a 7 pound laptop

The case is light and holding the handle feels like it will wear out quickly. i wish i had spent more money on a more robust case. would prob be good for an ultrabook but not so good for a nearly 7 pound 17" laptop.

Lots of storage compartments

I ordered this carrying case along with my laptop. I was surprised with the number of compartments they have to store things in. Happy with my purchase. Quality carrying case.

Bag sags when held with handle

I like the features of this bag except for 4 things: 1. If you don't secure the clip and lift the bag with the handle the bag sags. Granted you wouldn't want to go far without the clp being secure, I find it annoying. 2. There are no swivel clips on the straps to detangle the straps. 3. It doesn't really hold much more stuff than a laptop, though it does have a great pocket for a tablet. 4. Product tag says it has a fleece lined pocket for the laptop, however its only for a tablet. I like how thin the bag is, and has lots of organizing pockets, though I rarely use them at the moment. It also appears it would be fairly weather resistant, though this is NOT a weatherproof messenger bag.

Durable with many inside storage places.

The case is durable and looks good. It also has many places to store things. My only problem is there is a carrying case for a mouse on the side pictured but I don't have one on my case. I love the case though!

Really a good one

Since this is the first notebook carrying case I've owned I have nothing to compare it with, however, I will say I don't think this one can be much improved on. It is really functional and nice--enjoying it immensely.

Keeps Laptop safe when traveling

I use my Laptop at home and on the road and this case provides a place to protect my computer and also has places for papers, discs, and other items I carry with me.

A good case

Works good, and I got compliments on it. However, not quite big enough to carry a full-sized keyboard. My 17" laptop fits snugly inside, just barely big enough but it works. It appears to be built well and is balanced. Has all the pockets and compartments I need.

Much too big

My previous Targus was bought locally and I knew the physical size...This one was bought sight unseen over the internet...It is a monstrosity and I will not buy another one without actually inspecting it...The biggest problem with it is that it has a flap type closure as opposed to a zipper on my old one...To me, that is a bother... The nickname I gave IS MY ON LINE NICKNAME...HP rejected my survey because the nickname I gave is "ALREADY TAKEN?"...C'mon...

Love This Laptop Bag

I purchased this bag as a gift for my girlfriends new laptop. She loves it and so do I. It looks great and people are asking her where she got her bag.

17" Targus TCG200 and HP Pavilion dv7: Maybe!

This may apply to your other laptops... as well. Summary: I'm a little disappointend with this 17" Targus TCG200 bag for my 17.3" HP Pavilion dv7-6123cl Entertainment Notebook. (Well, Duh?!) The bag appears to be well manufactured, but my complaint is with the design and suitability to task. 1. Wear-protection: Miss! There is no added protection on the most-wear-prone bottom edge of the case. A rubberized tread would be nice. 2. Off-set center-of-mass: Near-Miss! The front flap is secured by a quick release clip. That clip position can be adjusted by clip-strap to allow adjust for a burgeoning load. Great, almost! Problem is that adjustment strap position doesn't let you cinch the flap down low enough (even with just the laptop alone) to center the carry handle over the load. Even with the clip secured, the bag's load is off-center with respect to the carrying handle. It's like carrying a loaded two-handle grocery bag by just one handle. I found it annoying. The shoulder strap solves this. 3. Strap fixed: Near-Hit! You can't unclip the shoulder strap. If you're on an airplane and don't want to snag the strap, you have to lift the flap and tuck the shoulder strap into a compartment. Not a biggie! 4. Bulge for damage: Miss! The left and right edges of my 17.3" laptop fit snugly. Too, snugly! Padding is nominally protective all around, but the edges of the laptop bulge the ends of the bag slightly. These bulges would be the strike points without much padding there to protect. Protrusions are prone to be hit first. 5. Price: Hit! It is great through HP. My search continues.

Solid product for occasional transport

Good product for occasional transport of large (17.3) screen laptop. Padding adequate but not great. Computer storage pocket allows easy/quick removal/reinsertion at TSA checkpoint. There are better cases, but not at this price-point. Just wish the pad on the carry-strap was not sewn in place. All the junk you can put in the case with a 17.3 can make it quite a lug.
