My first trip with the bag was great. Everything where it was supposed to be and adapted to multiple situations from Airplane to walk around. Wish the bottle pocket was a little more bottle friendly silpped out a few times.

I love my new FocusPoint Rolltop. Ironiclly, the first time I used it for a trip, I didn't bring any camera gear and that is exactly why I bought the bag! Instead of having two backpacks - one when I take camera gear and one for when I travel to a conference for work, I can just have this bag! Taking the cube out of it and turning it into a "regular" computer bag is a snap! It doesn't even "look like" a camera bag!

I needed a bag that could hold my 16" laptop, a full-frame mirrorless camera with lens attached, and still have room for some additional gear and misc. debris - all without being too bulky or heavy. This bag fits the bill. It is also well built, came in a color other than black, and most important, does not look like a camera bag. The hidden Air Tag pocket is a nice bonus for peace of mind.

I already have the Urban Access 13 backpack and it has worked quite well in a variety of scenarios, with the modest exception of traveling internationally. While I've managed to slide it under the seat as my "personal item" it is kind of pushing the limits. If the airline staff don't make me put the backpack into the overhead bin, it eats up most of my under seat legroom, which becomes more precious the longer the flight. The FocusPoint 30L is seven inches deep (thick) compared to the nine inches of the Urban Access 13, which doesn't seem like much, but does make a difference in creating a more compact footprint for the plane. The feature set of the FocusPoint also makes it a more multi-use travel companion by giving the camera gear a dedicated section separated from the area to store a tech pouch, toiletry bag, and other travel accessories you need more readily. The side panel gives you the option to easily access your camera if you need to, though as a right-handed person I would have preferred the panel be on the right side rather than the left. Fortunately, getting into the bag the opposite of what I'm used to on the Urban Access 13 doesn't seem to be a huge adjustment for my muscle memory, so I can still see this being my backpack of choice for international trips.

This bag has so many nice features - the camera side access, expandable rolltop with a satisfying buckle and strong magnets, sternum strap and hip strap, luggage strap, tripod strap for the expandable side pocket, rain cover and thick padded inserts. Its so comfortable to wear and pretty light even when packed with camera gear. It's a little smaller overall than I thought it would, but thats not a bad thing for me since I didnt want a big backpack. It should definitely work as a personal item on a plane. There should be enough room for a jacket or a bunch of other stuff on top in the rolltop area. But plenty of space to put a bunch of gear in the camera cube. I have a Canon r10 with a 28mm prime on it in the bag, with a RF 100-400mm, and a few other camera necessities in the cube part, and if i moved some of that up I could fit a couple more lenses easily. A couple things I wish could change - having a couple smaller pockets in the front for batteries or small camera stuff (tho the side access has a small pocket), a bigger airtag pocket because the galaxy smart tag doesnt let the pocket velcro close, and the ability to velcro inserts on the side that the camera side access is on (this prevents you from configuring the inserts in some ways). It's not a perfect backpack but its a very good one that I definitely recommend and it also doesnt scream camera bag which is a plus. Curious how water resistant this bag is without the rain cover, but if it starts raining pretty good im definitely gonna put the cover on. Also kinda salty that I waited for a while for it to go on sale but it never did so I decided to pull the trigger then a couple days after I buy it the bag goes on sale... whatever im still excited to shoot with the bag and it looks and feels great!

Excellent backpack and perfect for carrying a small amount of gear. The room through the roll top is great for personal items or additional gear.

This is definitely the nicest backpack I've ever owned. My main bags have been Airport Security 2.0's (since 2009 / recently upgraded to 3.0). When I travel, I need a little extra space for my gear as my rolling case has lenses, strobes and one dual grip mirrorless camera. Historically, I've used a shoulder photo bag which - when it has a camera, flash, laptop and accessories - can be really hard on the shoulder/back. Enter the FocusPoint 30L! This thing is not only BEAUTIFUL - it's done so with the utmost thought behind the design! There are so many places to store accessories, keys, credentials, etc. And the quality of the materials including zippers, magnetic quick clip that harnesses the bag across your chest and roller top fastener is just NEXT LEVEL. It's like something James Bond would be provided with from Q - okay, there are no weapons - but it's so cool and sleek; I could definitely see it making an appearance in a Bond film. I was a bit skeptical, but it said FF Body and (2) f/2.8 lenses. No! I tried a Nikon D850 and then a D780 and neither fit well unless laid flat, in which case you're NOT including more than one f/2.8 lens. If you stand either body upright, the prism box creates an uncomfortable lump in your back and possible damage to the body. I am NOT happy!

The FocusPoint 30L Rolltop is a fantastic travel bag. I can pack my photo gear and have plenty of room up top for a change of clothes and even my travel CPAP. My MacBook Pro rides safely in the laptop slot and in the front pocket I can store cables, charger blocks and my headphones. Love this bag and I pair it with my PressPass 20 for travel. Thinktank has the best camera bags!!

I've been a ThinkTank customer for YEARS. They are, quite simply, the best bags in the world for my traveling photographic needs. My roll-aboard has always been paired with a Yeti backpack as that was the most versatile backpack I could find however, I was never a fan of its thickness as it doesn't fit under the seat in front of me on airplanes. When I saw this new bag from ThinkTank I IMMEDIATELY bought one and it's turned out to be my new favorite bags. Slim enough to fit under the seat, it also serves to carry all my on-board accessories AND it works great as a day bag for on-the-go photography. I can't recommend this highly enough!!!

I like the fact that I can remove all the inserts and place my most used lenses and a camera in the bag. I really never use the photo inserts and use the lens cases and a small camera bag instead. Personally I think it's much more protective and secure. Granted it may take a bit more time to get stuff out but I usually anticipate the situations ahead of time and take the gear I think I will need. The only exceptions are the super telephotos which need to be on the ready and assembled. They are kept in separate bags specifically designed for them. I own Sony and Nikon gear. The main equipment I carry in this bag are spare batteries, filters and cards, Sony 2.8 16-35, Sony 2.8 24-70, Sony 2.8 70-200 and Sony 4 24-105, and Sony Camera 7R5. I also use RRS Tripods/ Monopods with ball heads light wt and medium wt as needed. Overall I really like the design and color. For traveling by air I use the Think Tank rolling backpacks

The Think Tank FocusPoint 30L Roll-Top is built for people like me - creatives who juggle work, family, and everything in between. It's durable, comfortable, and versatile enough to handle a shoot day, a business meeting, or a weekend with the family. It's not just a camera bag - it's a reliable companion that fits real life, and that's something I can appreciate as a dad, a small business owner, and someone who's constantly on the move. I definitely recommend this bag and any other Think Tank product for anyone who needs a bag they can rely on.
